Working great and helping cut plastic out of my life
These bags do what they are supposed to do and more. They are so much better than plastic in so many ways. First of all, they have helped me eliminate most uses of zip-lock plastic one-time use bags from my life. As a person who cares deeply about our earth and the environment, my goal is to step entirely away from plastic use eventually. I wish these bags came in an even bigger size so that I can freeze my homemade bread in them. That is my first and almost my only complaint about them--that I want a few that are bigger. The only other complaint (marginally) that I have is how hard it is sometimes to seal them with the plastic slider (I wish they weren't plastic, but one step at a time--at least even that is reusable). I've learned to get the top of the bag and slider wet before sealing, and that works most of the time. I'm going to try the oil idea mentioned by a lot of people here. Now for the positives, which there are many. I've sealed avocado halves in these several times, and they don't brown--they always do when sealed in plastic bags, which are quite permeable, as anyyone who has stored water or ice in plastic bags knows. Plastic leaks water; therefore we must assume it allows air to penetrate, too. Pieces of onions stay moist for days, as do many other produce items. I use the bags in my freezer, too, and so far, they are working fine. I am a vegetarian, so I can't speak to how well they store meat products, but I imagine they work fine in that respect, too.Okay, another big positive. This one so far has saved me a lot of money. I live in Northern California (the SF Bay Area), and anyone who has been watching the news lately knows that we have been going through almost apocalyptic times here. For three weeks, our power utility has been turning off our electricity (or threatening to), At first, I was wasting money buying ice to keep in my cooler, so that my refrigerated foods would stay fresh and safe. Finally I realized I could use my silicone bags to freeze water and make ice--I used about six of them, changing them into my freezer to refreeze when my power was on and using them (frozen solid) instead of purchased ice, when my power was off or threatened. I probably saved about twenty dollars. Those commercial blocks of ice are hard to find right now and way too expensive!So--I highly recommend this product. Learn how to use them to their best abilities, and you will grow to love and depend on them, as I have.

Good bags, good use
Finally got these the other day due to C19 issues, and am glad I did. Already my fridge looks cleaner! They stick a lot at first, and are a bit difficult to clean - When drying you are really going to want to use a glass to keep them open (Open the bag, put it over the glass so that the bag doesn't close up and seal with the water, preventing it from drying). This may be an issue that goes away after some use, when the creases start to break open a little and the bag is less factory stiff.I wouldn't want to use these for liquids or left overs with any kind of sauce - they are difficult to stand up when not full and I can easily see the plastic seal bar breaking in the future and causing a mess. For keeping vegetables and other ingredients fresh and sealed however - they work perfect!Other than that, easy to open, easy to close. Not the best for "burping" out the air - even with the sealing bar almost entirely closed some air kept coming back in. Had to push down and close the bar at the same time, which is a bit difficult.Still, overall good bags that are more space efficient and better at keeping stains/smells out than Tupperware.

good for snacks and sandwiches but not ideal for left-over meals
I guess I expected these to be a full solution for all my miscellaneous container problems but I do not like them for left over soups/meals etc.. here's why:1. they do not really stand up by themselves until something substantial is inside (and even then can tip over easily), so if you are trying to spoon in left over soups or stews, keep in mind you have to use one hand to hold this steady/open.2. the closure 'wand' - If your hands are wet, it is not as easy to push it closed/pull it open; I can also see myself losing one or more of these and soon I will have containers without 'lids' again.3. it is semi-easy to clean, but because of the way the bottom is tucked I feel like I may not get to all the crannies - worry about the longevity of these and making sure they stay super clean. So I will keep these for more benign foods like taking a sandwich to work or storing some uncooked vegetables/fruits or dry snacks as it seems to be their primary purpose.

I wouldn’t purchase again
I do like that they’re reusable but they’re honestly not very practical. The bags stick together on the inside so each time you want to use one you have to peel it open all the way. They’re also pretty difficult to close. Make sure the arrow on the clip thing is facing the same way as the arrow on the bag otherwise it won’t close all the way. The smaller bags are manageable even though it takes a bit of strength to get them closed, but the two larger bags are completely useless and impossible to close. I couldn’t close them as much as I tried and I had my older brother who is much stronger than me try to close the large bags and he couldn’t do it either. Other than that, the material attracts lint and dust very quickly and even just by setting it on the table during lunch at school or work tends to immediately make the bags feel dirty which isn’t a good feeling when it’s holding your food. They’re also not easy to clean because even after you wash them, it’s kind of difficult to dry them properly and that makes me kind of worried about bacterial build up. I bought these because I was hoping they would be a good alternative to both wasteful single use ziploc bags and also heavy glass reusable containers, but I think I’ll just stick to the glass containers.
