Come Unto Me: 10 Comforting Solo Piano Arrangements for Worship, Advanced Piano (Sacred Performer Collections)

Pretty arrangements, but not advanced
This book contains some lovely arrangements that are soothing to listen to, but it's definitely not advanced. It's much simpler than many other of Marylynn Ham arrangements. I'm still glad I have it in case I need something quick and sight-readable to play in church or elsewhere. I would say this is more intermediate level.

Only 1-2 good songs :(
Just some background, I play piano for a pretty conservative church and usually like to stay within traditional blue psalter hymnal songs (great is thy faithfullness, It is well, Amazing grace, etc etc). I usually love marilynn ham....but the vast majority of these songs/arrangements are NOT very pretty and usually have a pretty weird/lengthy/ugly part in them. HOWEVER, there is one song in this book I absolutely love and argue it is almost worth purchasing the book for. It is the "Nearer My God To Thee arranged with Schubert's Impromtu in G-flat"...I LOVE Schubert's Impromtu in G-flat major and really like this arrangement/song. But, once again, there is a long weird filler part in the middle of the song....so I simply cut/skip it while playing it and it still sounds great. Go listen to a youtube recording of schubert's impromtu in g-flat and if you don't love it, then simply do NOT buy this book.

Looks Like A Winner!
This music was in mint condition (can't remember if I bought it new or used, but it was like-new!) and flipping through all the songs I feel very satisfied with my purchase. I am not that picky of a pianist, and always make it my goal to learn ever song in the book, whether or not it's my favorite. I've only played them by ear aurally in my head (don't live with a piano sadly, but I have a very good ear and can "hear" chords and melodies very well), yet I'm SUPER excited to get going on these! They look beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Not bad, but a bit repetitive
I was looking for some advanced piano arrangements of common hymns. I'd call these late intermediate to early advanced. These aren't bad, but get kind of repetitive in that the style of each of the hymns is similar. Taken individually, each arrangement is about 6/10. My favorite was "Jesus, Lover of my Soul." I'd give that an 8/10.

A good book for advanced pianists
Nice arrangements. Of course, not all of them are my taste, but that is typical in a music book. It was worth the money to buy it.

Come Unto Me: 10 Comforting Solo Piano Arrangements for Worship
I have an extensive collection of sacred music that I use in church. This book contains a variety of pieces, most of which are not included in my other collections. I have most of Marilynn Ham's other books and this one seems less challenging for an advanced musician since there are less runs. As always, she puts her special touch on every arrangement.

Hymn Updates
Really a lovely way with making old hymn classics new. For more advanced pianist.
