I coloured my hair blue/black using this home dye kit a week ago and have been so pleased with the results. I’ve been to the gym multiple times and NOT sweated blue sweat (which my previous brand had me doing for at least a week after colouring) and my hair is shiny and glossy with more blue than I was expecting. It’s ace. I love the fact it’s cruelty free and kinder to my hair than other bands too. I’ve never been so glossy! At least half a dozen people have said how amazing it looks and asked where I had it done - when I say I did it myself they’re amazed. Still got to see how it fares when I go swimming next week but, assuming I survive that without turning the pool a funny colour (!) it’s a definite, 100% thumbs up from me :)

Ok pros:- The colour is the best colour result I've ever had on black hair. You can see the blue very clearly in any light. It's a clear blue hue The colour stays I've had this on about 2 weeks now and now fade so far (I'm using maui shampoo and conditioner) The condition this dye puts you hair in is surprising. It literally fixes your hair while dying it. CONS:- It's messy to apply. Extremely thick. Stains absolutely everything. USE VASALINE ON EARS NECK THROAT AND FACE AND ARMS WRIGHTS SOAP (COAL TAR) WAS RHE ONLY THING THAT REMOVED THE STAINS. I've been dying my hair for over 20 years. This by far is the messiest dye but one of the best blue blacks I've come across.

I always get blue black dye because it gives a cooler tone even if you can't see the blue (it never shows in my hair). This one most definitely has a blue tint to it. My hair is soft and shiny. I saw some reviews it's messy to apply, I personally didn't experience this. It's quite a thick formula and I found it probably one of the easiest I've used. My only complaint is probably that the bottle is quite soft plastic so it's not that easy to squeeze the dye out. I usually have to put loads of conditioner on when washing out to get a comb through my hair but not with this one, I shampoo'd with a colour fast shampoo as advised but did not need conditioner. Will be switching to this brand permanently!

Loved this, stayed in for ages which is not usually the case for colours like this, so very good. There are lower cost ones out there from different brands but you will just end up buying more of them in the long run. This will last longer and in my opinion better for hair too.

Well, it didn’t colour as described. It covered the grey hair, turned out black, but not the rest. I have a mixture of red and black hair, father had black and mother reddish, so I tend to colour it all black but this time I wanted a blue tint but it didn’t work. I have tried a different brand in the past and it was great but I can’t get the colour I wanted anymore, so I thought I’d try this brand, not impressed.

I got this because of the reviews and so far the colour hasn't faded. I slightly lightened my undercut to see if a lighter brown would turn out more blue but there is no colour difference to the rest of my hair. The blue comes through only ever so slightly, it's very black. Hair is a tad drier all over than it was previously, not just the lightened part, but nothing a 10 minute hair mask didn't fix. Hasn't faded after a few washes, covered a couple of greys well and did go patchy like some dyes go. I wouldn't use if you're looking for navy blue and you have medium to dark brown hair

This is by far the best hairdye I've ever used. It has repaired the damage to my hair from being bleached twice (my ends are almost as soft as my roots now) and the colour is rich and gorgeous. Definitely going to buy again and would recommend to anyone looking for permanent colour. The only thing to watch out for is colour transfer up to 48 hours after colour treatment - make sure you wash any colour off your scalp before lying on any white pillows!

literally just turned my hair black. i put it on bleached hair.

I used Black Saphire. My hair was only colored with a non permanent pink and purple which only took at the ends. So basically I had medium brown with magenta ends. I wasn't sure how this would turn out. I've never done such a dark color. I usually lean blonde or red. But I love this. This colored very evenly. I was also worried it would be more blue than black but I was pleasantly suprised that I got exactly what I wanted...a black with navy blue hue in the light. I can't geek you how long it will last as I only wash my hair about every 10 days. So for me it will last forever lol. I will definitely buy again as I'll keep this color for a long time since I love it so much. I wish I world have tried this years ago lol
