Mi 9 64GB Ocean Blue

Bought this phone over a month ago. Initially I was afraid to buy it from Amazon rather than Xiaomi itself, but don't regret it! The title says that it is the 64GB model and I received the 128 GB model (!) for over 150 cheaper than I would have got the same phone from Xiaomi, and it is a gorgeous phone, beautiful photos, and I get compliments on it all the time. See all the reviews on Techradar or whatever for an in-depth description of the phone, but I'd just like to say that it's legit and it will work in the UK, which were my biggest worries in buying from Amazon.

My reaction, after skipping setup and viewing this phone was, to return it. Really poor 2D icons, like very early Android, I’m used to quality icons on Moto G The battery at 100% dropped to 98% after 10 minutes with the phone on standby Supplied with a bog-standard charger, Moto G Turbo Charger stepped in Not even a basic Wireless charger included.I persevered with all the updates and the 100 plus apps from my old phone; this took some time as I have really poor Wi-Fi. Yes, the phone is super-fast but I still wasn’t happy with the screens' look, then there was a system update from Pie to Android 10, what a difference, although neither folders or icons look as good I’m used to. A lot of people have complained about MiUI (Xiaomis' User Interface), well, even though it is completely new to me, I was comfortably working with it minutes and am enjoying using it now. After the update and setting the phone to my liking, the battery seems to be fine, it could have done with a beefier one though. I have chosen to use ‘gestures’ as I don’t like virtual buttons hogging the screen, they work well and fast – but, there is something even better installed – ‘Quick Ball’. Settings, Additional Settings, Quick Ball which places a small circle on your home page and is barely visible but as you can put it where you want, you will know where to find it. I think I may be making this sound more complex than it is, sorry, just try it. I have used an iPad for some years now but still prefer features that Android offers that make life easier, so at a third of the price of a similar spec iPhone, to me this is a no-brainer.The preinstalled Bloatware is not a problem as just about any apps can be Uninstalled by pressing on the icon and dragging it to the top of the screen where the Uninstaller lives. You can also ditch a lot of your existing apps as Xiaomi or possibly Android 10 have kindly provided their own, which seem to work well – the ones I’ve tried. Also included is a good cleaner and security/anti-virus scanner, yep some pretty good stuff on this little machine, in fact I am still coming across setting which improve the user experience.Regarding the photo/4K video quality, no phone or digital camera I have used has come anywhere close to this, with a plethora of options too.I have seen it mentioned that the construction is of thinner glass and yes compared to my G6 when tapped on the back the sound would reinforce that view. However, unless you are a recidivist phone dropper who has sellotaped all his phones (the one star), you should be fine, there is a rugged case available on Amazon at a reasonable price.Taking a screenshot can be done by pressing three fingers on the screen and slide down a little, very quickly you will see the image with Send and Scroll under it. Scroll will capture even what is not visible and can be viewed at your leisure.I have to stop, there is just too many great things about this phone to mention, just don't lose the Type C to 3.5 Jack adapter unless you have some Bluetooth ear/headphones.

I’ve only had this phone a week and already it’s easily replaced my iPhone XS with the same features, the same speed and the same power. It’s also gorgeous to look at. The recent upgrade in the software has made it even better. The camera is superb, the body is slim and sleek and it sits in your hand like a glove. My iPhone XS Max cost £1,049 and this piece of amazing tech from Xiaomi cost a mere £289. Apple and Samsung are ripping us all of guys! Reviews call it a mid range phone but I will never go back to Apple, this is a flagship phone with a flagship Snapdragon CPU.I’m looking forward to reading about the Mi 10 which comes out in February. At this price I can change my phone twice a year!

Absolutely great product. The best value for money. Bought this one for £278. I got the 128Gb version instead of the 64Gb. With a Snapdragon 855 and 6Gb of ram this phone is an absolute beast. Similar spec phones cost 2,3 or even 4 times more. This device is snappy, smooth and responsive. Even the cameras, although not the best in the market, are quite good. If came with both UK and EU power plugs in the box. The phone also feels premium and is gorgeous with this prismatic blue colour.The only point I'm not the biggest fan of is MIUI. I prefer a more stock experience. That's easily solved by changing the launcher, so I've just installed Nova Launcher and my problem is solved.I had a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 before this one and in my opinion Xiaomi is one of the brand's that delivers the best value phones if not the best. If you are looking for a new phone look no further. Buy it now! You won't regret.

Love this phone. Did lots of research and my main requirements, camera and video certainly don't dissapoint. Excellent phone for the price tag!

For a none branded mobile, this has all the top spec things on it, at a very reasonable price. We've only had the phones a few days, but we are liking them so far.Good size, nice feel in hands. Fingerprint sensor works well, but have yet to put on screen saver. Quick response on touch screenAll good so far.Great price and delivery was quick.

There's nothing better in the same price range. This is absolutely one of the best phones I've ever bought. It comes with a fairly lightly-skinned version of stock Android, with far less junk than Samsung or the other big names offer, The camera is superb for the price, and the phone itself is really powerful.

Phone is unbelievably responsive. Most tasks are close to instant, the most responsive device I have ever used. Been after this my entire life. Beautiful screen and colours with a superb camera. As good as my friends Iphone X for a third of the price.
