safe, edible and a nice way natural way to burrow
My tortoises, 90 and 60 are really loving burying into this. I don't think it is very dusty either which I do feel with dust extracted straw or hay. I m happy they can nibble intentionally or accidentally on this safely too. It does scatter from the bed areas into the main area but it doesn't matter if I don't sweep it back promptly as it's safe to eat. The only thing is that when one of them wees in their bed I have to throw a lot of it away to clear it up and reapply. Luckily doesn't happen too often and makes me keep them clean anyway. Very happy and a good price as it gives a pretty deep layer in the two bed sections of my tortoises outdoor house.

Be careful always check the bag before just putting it in the tank
I use this for bedding for my herman tortoise and just found this in the bag of it its not acceptable its a piece of rusted metal
