Lovely Set but...
Love this bamboo set but... the fork had splinters and its hard to clean in between the prongs. Otherwise pleased

Extremely sturdy (thicker than you might think)
The knife is super thick, it seems like it will cut well but with out a clean cut. To think of a cutting edge but still nice. The spoon is more like a stirring spoon for cooking but it still great and this I have tried and it does work well for not so liquid soups or other dishes requiring a spoon. The fork feels awkward to use but it still does the job.

Durable and Natural Utensils
After 2 1/2 years of every day use, I am ready to review and will definitely be repurchasing from this company. These utensils were only ever hand washed with dr. Bronners soap and water.I rarely used the knives, so theyโve remained a lighter color. They can cut through small things easily, but not through fatty meats like steak. Washing takes a bit more work after cutting through butter because it lodges between each tooth of the knife and does not simply rinse off with water pressure. The forks have held up well except a prong has fallen off two - keep in mind it was being used to hold thick steaks still while cutting. Cleaning takes a bit more effort because again, food lodges between the prongs and not easily sprayed out with water. A simple thin knife or pipe cleaner to scrape it out works well. The spoons were used the most and have started to get โfuzzyโ with the high use. The dark spots were caused by me leaving them against a hot pan, so nothing wrong with the product. After 2.5 years, I am ready to bring these to a bonfire on the beach and repurchase another set.

Bamboo Flatware
This flatware is _TOTALLY_ bamboo, and totally flat. Some reviewers rated this one star because there must have been a wrong picture before. The picture must have been fixed because I got exactly what was shown, flatware made out of bamboo only.I think this is very good quality flatware, it has a kind of burnished finish so it repells liquids. I used the spoon to eat soup and it works great without soaking up the soup. One thing to note is that this is really flat, so the spoon isn't ideal for eating soup but it works for me.For me, one advantage of using the bamboo instead of metal is it won't ever scratch your plates, and the spoon and fork will never scratch your teeth. I also like that they are so light weight. The only qualm I have is that the knife serrations are not very good. The purpose of serrations is to decrease the apparent angle of the blade next to the teeth (making it sharper), while still maintaining durability. The serrations on the knives don't even have an edge at all between the teeth! They are not terribly effective at slicing anything, and must be used more like a rip saw, leaving lots of crumbs. Also, due to the weird serrations, food gets stuck between the teeth and is really hard to get out.Overall, these aren't 100% perfect, but they are very good. I'm docking a star for the poor knife serrations and because it makes the knife blades so hard to clean. 4 stars

Metal-free, and last a long time!
These are a godsend for my partner who is allergic to nickel. Of course they can't be expected to last as long as metal flatware, so we have been thrilled that 1-1/2 years later we haven't broken any (although you can see surface cracks in some of the spoons). The seller does not recommend using an automatic dishwasher, but our lifestyle is busy enough that we'd rather take our chances and replace if needed. We have not had to replace these yet, and they have been used for 18 months, and run through the dishwasher every time!I still use metal, but would say that these have been used daily by one family member, and maybe the equivalent of 1/2 time for a second person. (Those of us who are non-nickel-allergic probably use the spoons most.)The knives are serrated and really do a good job of cutting for a non-metal knife. The only catch (so to speak) is that food can get caught between the tines of the fork. We brush quickly before putting them in the dishwasher. Don't let it get dried on or it takes a little work, since the bamboo surface is more textured than metal.

BEAUTIFUL, FUNCTIONAL FLATWARE
This is a lovely set , my first bamboo utensils. The right side of the fork tine had a burr and when cut off there was a gash in the tine. I sanded it, somewhat making the tine less wide, but usable. Much has been said about the spoon, but it holds a regular teaspoon of liquid (I measured). It is neither too large nor too small. The only issue I had with the spoon was it was rough to touch, and as I did not want to get splinters on my lips or in my mouth I sanded it also. No problems with the knife. It would be nice if a small flat piece of sandpaper was included with the set. With proper care and common-sense use I expect it to last. I washed before initial use, and always immediately after use. Lightweight, and natural to use. It's worth a try.

A Little Splintery and ~could~ snap, but I know it'll last!
When they arrived, each utensil was a little splintery. Think of chopsticks when you get them with cheap take out. They recommend washing them before first use. I tried to take out some of the splinters by gently rubbing them (again like cheap take-out chopsticks) before I washed them.It worked well, but the fork had quite a few splinters between the prongs. Unfortunately, one outer prong snapped while I was de-splintering it. I glued it back together with some super glue and can tell it will be fine. These make the perfect backpack set for days you forget cutlery or don't want to pick up plastic cutlery while you're out. This is why I bought them. I can tell they are NOT a good replacement for the kitchen.

Great Product
Not much to say other than it is great. Does exactly as needed, easy to clean, appears pretty strong. Knife is decently sharp. Goes nicely in a travel kit for on the go meals. One thing that could be improved upon is coming in a pouch of some sort, although this company isn't advertising the zero-waste movement, those who care should note that it comes in a thin film of plastic. Can't say anything negative other then that, its to be expected from amazon packages.

Very satisfied
For some reason I thought it came with a holder, cause the packaging looks like the utensils are being held by something but then realized when I got them that it was just the packaging. So they come alone. Great quality and easy to use. A little big for transporting in my purse but lighter than carrying metal flat-wear. I'm very satisfied.

...
I bought 2 sets and love them so much that I just bought two more sets! They are way more expensive than I would ever pay for silverware but I love how earth friendly they are. The knife is really sharp, the fork is a pain to wash because I feel the need to dry between each prong and fear that it with splinter and become unusable. I think I might cry if that happens. The spoon is perfect for me, too big for the mouth of my 6 year old. They take some getting used to since they are way thicker than silverware but I would definitely recommend to anyone!

More aesthetic than practical
I work in one of those places that don't allow metal cutlery and thought this set would be better than the plastic ones or the outdoor spork style utensils. You're working with wood, so it makes sense that the pieces would be bigger, but the grainy attempt of a fork is much like a cheap chopstick and I've been trying to smooth out the rough parts. The spoon grew on me and was very smooth, but first impression was that it was too wide and a bit flat. Handles are oddly long. All puns intended.

sturdy & I like bamboo for it's natural antimicrobial material
sturdy & I like bamboo for it's natural antimicrobial material...they're well crafted & handy to have when going to functions that use plastic tableware. I dislike plastic! Easily washed & doesn't harm the wood.
