ClosetMaid5081 Shoe Station, Espresso

Bought two. Both were easy to assemble. Created a ton of extra storage for us in organizing our closet. Disagree with other reviews that structure isn't sturdy. I wouldn't go dancing on top of it, but it's great for what it is - a shoe / item organizer. One note - make sure to use a mallet or hammer to get dowels all the way in. The bottom of my organizer has a small breach with a dowel cracking the outside. Nothing to worry about because on the bottom, but a word for those new customers.

I purchased 3 of these and its thick material, Yes I added caulk in the seams to make it stronger. but its very sturdy if you put it together correctly. I purchased these with my own money. Not sure if other reviewers received a different product but its quite heavy and cute. It's a great product for a shoe display thats not made of wood. If you don't follow direction this may be flimsy. Adding glue is optional to the wood peg pieces but it does make the hold stronger. Only push the wood pegs in half way to the middle, because its balanced between the two boards. Don't force it in the holes, just tap it gently with a hammer. It will only break if you are forceful.

Unit is easy to put together, but as others have noted, you do have to pay attention to the instructions, diagrams, and the hole patterns in the wood. It's sturdy, but like all particle board with laminate, easy to damage. Don't over-tighten screws and use wood glue. Nice enough for a closet, but it's probably worth half the cost for what it is.That being said, it's perfect for my needs and makes my closet shelf almost feel like it's a built-in component.

DO NOT BUY. This rivals the sturdiness of Ikea's worst.Each slot is roomy for ballerina slippers. Shoes for infants.And that's if you even get to assemble it to completion. The instructions suggest glue. Not wood glue. Elmer's glue. Like it's a school project you'll eventually throw out. Which I did. At first when I realized how little I was getting for $40, this was the first disappointment. And I'm the guy that even if you get my meal order wrong at a fine restaurant like McDonald's I don't gripe. This should cost $15 at best. Then when I realized it wasn't what I really needed, and started the return process, my partner thought she could use it in a different way. As a small organizer for her school stuff. She tried building it and it collapsed and broke on her. She was so devastated that it was abandoned in the patio and then a thunderstorm hit and then the patio looked like a tornado hit it and disassembled everything. So I could not finish returning it and there went $40. And sure, even if it had stood solid, it would have been thrown out eventually because of it's poor bridle structure.DO NOT BUY unless you're gonna put it in a doll house or love wasting money.

Received and assembled it yesterday! Instructions were easy, took about 30 minutes to put together. They want you to use glue when putting the pegs into the planks, but I didnt have any and after EVERYTHING was screwed together the final product was very sturdy. If you follow the directions carefully and make sure you have all the finished edges facing the correct way then this can be something that looks really nice and lasts a long time! I turned it vertically to put my heels in. 4 cubes across= 36 in.

Absolutely love this. We moved into a house and I needed our closet to be cleaned up! I was searching to find something that would fit in the area, and this was the perfect size! I put it together in a half hour (while watching tv, so probably less time). Its heavier than I expected, which is great. Fits all my shoes in each cubby. Beware though, it wouldn't fit my husbands work boots, but it fit my size 9 hiking boots.Definitely will buy again for another part of the house! I didn't receive any part with any broken pieces, which was great!

Very nice for the price. I had no problem fitting two shoes, two boots, or even two of my husband’s boots in an opening. I can fit two pairs of ladies sandals in an opening. It sure neatened up my closet. I bought two and laid them horizontally.

I needed a shoe organizer that was 36" wide to go under my entry table and this was one of only a few i found that appeared decent. It arrived in the original box, no amazon box surrounding it. And it had some dings on the outside and sure enough, was damaged. But i am going to live with it bc after i opened the box, it would have been impossible to send back. Plus like i said, only a few to select from, well that will satisfy my OCD ;-) and i am going to have to overlook the visible dings on the front...But, it holds a ton of shoes and the size is perfect. I can fit 3-4 pair of flip flops easily in one cubbie. Perfect for my needs to house my shoes and my toddlers. I was able to put his crocs in the back with his tennis shors easily in front. It took me and my 4 yro an hour to put together. You WILL need wood glue. Giving it 3 stars bc for the quality, its not worth more than $20-$25 and i paid $42. Also, it is more dark brown than black/expresso. Matches photo*** i tried adding several photos of the bangs, splits, and damage but only a couple were posted, the not as bad ones...

good size for shoes and small dollar-store boxes. I use it in my closet for a "built-in look

Lo uso para mi area de entrenamiento, es como armar un Lego. Solo necesitas un poco de calma comprar pegamento (se necesita) y listo. Cumple perfecto su función.

El envío llegó rápido y perfectamente empacado. El producto íntegro y sin daños. Fue muy fácil armarlo, en unos 20-30 minutos. Ya ensamblado se ve muy bonito y parece resistente, pedí las cajas de almacenamiento con ventana y luce genial. Es muy práctico, estético y perfecto para ordenar zapatos sin maltratarse además de que ahorra espacio. Caben tacones y botines, las botas caben sólo dobladas. Tiene la opción de fijarlo a la pared para dar mayor estabilidad. Lo que no me gusto fue que el panel trasero sea de cartón!!! Decidí no ponerlo porque la madera se puede dañar con cualquier paso en falso de los clavos. Fue una excelente adquisición a un magnífico precio. Volvería a comprarlo. Muy recomendable

Es muy chico, no vale la pena. Ni siquiera por el precio en lugar de tabla te mandan una cartulina, pésimo!

Very easy and quick to assemble - recommend using a drill to speed up the screws. The instructions do recommend wood glue, so make sure you have some / go out and get some before it arrives!Product feels very sturdy, arrived with no marks or damage, and has totally transformed my coat and shoe cupboard.
