Boss of the World (Katie Woo)

My kindergartner LOVES the Katie Woo series! They are probably equivalent to a Level II reader, but they are in a chapter book format. At age 6, she is so proud that she can sit and read the entire book on her own. Katie Woo has simple problems, which Kindergarten and first grade girls can easily relate to. Great book series!

This series was introduced by the school librarian. My girls all checked out the books. They are a high first grade to mid second grade level. My girls are asking me to buy more of this series!

This was a book that my students really identified with. It is a cute story and the perfect length for young readers.

for the price, very short and not engaging. My daughter is struggling with reading and I hoped this would hook her.this book should be no more than .99.

Katie Woo is a 6 years old and is 1st grade. She is Chinese American and has 2 best friends are also brother and sister Pedro and JoJo. In this book Katie Woo, Pedro and Jojo go to the beach and Katie is being very bossy! In the end Katie figures out that she's being bossy and she changes her ways and treats her friends better!Also included in each book is a glossary of words, 3 discussion questions and 3 writing prompts,and Having fun with Katie Woo. The website contains Lean more about Katie Woo, her friends, downloads and books.I really like these easy 3 chapter books. Each page has color illustration and big easy read print. I think this would be perfect for 1st graders! I think children will love Katie Woo, she's cool and hip and is a normal kid! Plus for children just getting into chapter books this is a good confidence builder - I can read a chapter book!
