BEST RAZOR EVER!
Best razor ever!!! It is so much less expensive than name brands, and itโs the best one Iโve ever hadโ
R**.
It's good!
Well I was a long time user of the Big G (I'll call it) 5 blade razor, but the last time I ordered a bunch of refills something strange happened, you know that great feeling when you pop a new refill blade in and start shaving? Well either I've started growing stubbles of steel, or something drastically wrong happened with this batch of Big G blades, a brand new blade felt like I was shaving with a month old razor! I thought well maybe I just got one bad one in the batch, I popped another new one in... Same thing! and another, and another, that's it I thought, for as expensive as these things are I'm done, and I went shopping for something new, came across Amazons 5 blade razor, and for the price I figured why not give it a try? It's very good looking if that even matters, looks every bit as expensive as the Big G, and it cuts just like I was used to with the G! AND it has the trimmer blade on the back, which I have to have for under my big nose, I'm sold, I don't think I'll be going back. EDIT a week later... The main blades are still great, but what's with the trimmer blade? It kind of feels like I'm running a rough piece of plastic over my face, this sure could use a little improvement.

Mullet of razor blades - good up front...needs work in the back
The front facing razor is great - provides a good clean shave. The head moves and adjusts well. It's well made. I've tried Gillette, Schick, DSC, Harry's and Jeremy's and this is at least on par with them all and better than some (Schick and Jeremy's are my other favorites). Therefore, at its price point, it would be a clear leader. Exceeeeeepppppttt....The rear-facing trimmer blade stinks! Either the angle of the blade or the amount of protrusion from the casing are such that it constantly cuts/nicks such that it renders it unusable. I have to keep a separate trimmer blade of another brand to pair with this one. I don't think it would require much study of competitor's trimmer blade to re-design the angle/positioning and make this entre blade great. But as it sits, it's only pretty good.

Exceptionally smooth, comfortable shave โ one of the best razors Iโve used
This razor genuinely exceeded my expectations. The 5-blade MotionSphere design glides effortlessly over the skin and adapts really well to contours, making the shave both close and comfortable. I noticed significantly less tugging and irritation, even on sensitive areas. Overall, this razor feels high quality, well-designed, and durable. It delivers a consistently smooth shave and clearly competes with (or beats) more expensive options. If you want a reliable, comfortable razor that handles both full shaves and detailed grooming, this is an easy 5-star recommendation.

Fusion 5 Performance Without the High Price
I needed a new razor and did a lot of research before buying. Iโve always liked 5-blade razors, but the refill cartridges can be extremely expensive. This razor is very comparable to the Gillette Fusion 5. In fact, the head moves with the contours of my face better than any razor Iโve used, including the Fusion 5. The best part is the price. I bought a 12-pack of refills for $18 compared to about $38 for a 10-pack of Gillette refills, and honestly they work just as well, if not better. I know this probably sounds like a paid review, but Iโm just someone who likes being frugal while still getting quality products, and I do a lot of research before buying. Highly recommend. (Review is for the starter kit and refills.)

Waste of money. Or is it?
I hate writing bad reviews, but the razor blades on this shaver are so dull that it has caused me to rethink my boycott of Gillette. They don't even work going with the grain of your hair follicles. I would not suggest trying to go against the grain. Ouch! I had to finish my shave using the Gillette Atra Plus (a two-blade razor). After review: I was still feeling bad about writing this review. It dawned on me after using the Schick razor that the Amazon Basic has a purpose. I use it as an "after shave" razor. I use the Amazon Basic shaver after I first shave with the Schick shaver. That way I can give more life to my Schick blade and have some use for the Amazon Basic razor. Once the Schick clears out the heavy bush, the Amazon works well to finish the job. The Amazon Basic is a good finishing razor. It might work well for those who shave every day. I haven't used multi-blade razors in a long while, but I am learning that they work best with a heavy lather of shaving cream... so that the blades can't all reach the beard. The first pass hardly touches, but it does enough to make the second, third, and forth passes much easier as the lather diminishes. Using this razor, you just have to start shaving differently. The "after, after review": The added another star. The more that I use the razor, the better I like it. It doesn't work well if your hair grows a few days old, but it works great if you use it daily. I shave every three of four days. If I was shaving everyday, I'd give it a five-star rating, but as it is, the blades seem dull to other blades that I am using.

I now have a new razor set for my shaving routine.
Wow, I am impressed! I needed new razors but had never used the Amazon Basics version, although I have used things in other categories, from food seasonings to flea drops for our dog, and they've always been great. Soooo, I took a chance and ordered the handle w/2 blade cartridges. Great shave! I shaved last night after my shower and it did very good. And I was probably a few days late on shaving, so the length of facial stubble was a good test for the 5 blades. It passed with flying colors! No nicks, no bumps. Just keep it well rinsed(clogging is a definite problem with all stacked multi-blades, not just this) & you're good to go. I now have a new razor set for my shaving routine.

Low quality razor, bad for many, ok for some
Item: Amazon Basics 5-Blade MotionSphere Razor (Starter Kit) Summary: Really bad for anyone with sensitive skin, tough beard, unsmooth face, or curly hair/whiskers. The trimmer is almost completely worthless for anyone. Possibly okay for anyone with great to average skin/beard. Pros: Inexpensive, quick ship, lots of lubrication, doesn't clog. Cons: Trimmer, Blade Angle, Blade Gap, Blade Longevity. Background: I have sensitive skin and curly hair/whiskers and my only goal, like anyone in the same boat, is to find the least worst razor to use. Nothing is awesome. To date, the older Dorco Pace 6, NOT the pro version, is the best I've found. Unfortunately Dorco keeps trying to kill off the older Pace 6 and force everyone to the Pace 6 Pro or the Pace 7 Pro, which are far inferior. Thus I occasionally try out other razors. This time it was Amazon's. Detail: Aesthetically the Amazon razor looks good. The first sign that the design might not be good is when you attempt to remove/attack a blade. I'm not sure why every manufacturer considers it so important to make theirs unique rather than practical or work well. Your first thought will be how does this work when the prongs stick out at an angle. With a little fidgeting it does. But why! With your first stroke of the razor, you realize it makes a lot of noise. This is because the razor isn't cutting all the whiskers, but pushing many over akin to an airplane crash landing in a forest as it skims the trees. I ended up doing at least 4 to 6 times as many strokes as the legacy Dorco Pace 6. I felt uneasy with using the razor near the eyes as I didn't want to catch the skin and cut like many other cheap razors. Something I never worry about with the legacy Dorco Pace 6. Then I got to finally using the trimmer. OMG this is an actual nightmare. It's so spongy that you can't. And it leaves so much lubricating gel that it sticks as you try and pick up to reposition. It's obvious no engineer was involved in the trimmer design or he/she was high and drunk at the same time when they were. After rinsing my face of all the lubricating gel I realized the places I typically have problems with cheap razors didn't get a smooth shave, specifically the lower neck, around the mouth, and around the side burns. After about three days of using the Amazon razor my opinion only got worse. I now have a ingrown hair in the lower neck and noticed the blades are considerably duller, so much so that my neck burns as I type up this review.
