Great home/ hobby cutter!!!
Great home shop cutter!!! Cut 3/8 mild steel like butter!!!! Only down side is that the consumables are a little, well alot more expensive for this model!!! In time hopefully they will be in line with the older models????? For the money you can't go wrong!!

Great machine, well worth it
From reading lots of reviews I gathered that if it’s not DOA then these were okay and buying from Amazon would keep you from being stuck with a defective one. I pulled the trigger and bought one. I’m a long time user of big name plasma cutters, and am really pleased with this one. Note that on eBay you can get a stamped steel torch stand-off just like Hypertherm’s that is way better than the wire kind it comes with. I’ve done a couple projects with up to 1/2” plate and am on my first set of consumables still. If you’re on the fence, I recommend going for it-you won’t regret buying this.

2 years later and still running strong! Paid for itself in less than one job!
Yes, I am an actual person and not paid advertisement. I bout this little guy and it paid for itself 3x over on one job. See the pictures... It cut conex boxes apart like a hot knife through butter on 220v.UPDATE: 2 years later and this plasma cutter is still kicking a$$. Even though i posted pictures of it cutting through Connex boxes with ease, it also has no issues making quick work of 1/2 inch thick steel I-beams. It does everything from massive industrial structures to fine art! Don’t believe me? Check out what this little box has done for my business. Www.facebook.com/barrelhousemetalandwoodworks

complete review,and an honest one
I read all the reviews before my purchase, It works, functions as it advertised, I have an older model hyperthem plasma cutter, and I have used other types and models from various companies, this is not production equipment, do not expect the same level of production from it, I purchased it for home use, Smaller stuff, carbon steel, stainless, aluminum below 1/8 inch thick it works ok, 3/16 an above you have to take your time, don't try to zip it like other machines. Not going to work, Ive played with air pressure and machine settings not much different. But if you are looking for a small machine, that works, going to use it at home for hobby or small projects, then this is the machine for you, lower cost than others, Plus no gas cost or hose, regulators, ectBottom line: test it when you get it, it's a good system for the price, (update)keep a wire brush handy, about every 2nd cut hit the tip with wire brush, I've found out that by doing this,(while tip is still hot) it extends the life of the tip. it seems that slag blown from the metal sticks on the tip, which causes failure on tip and electrodes, going to try a gel mix on the tip to see if it solves the problem.product has no country of origin stamp, mark, or sticker on it. not going inside until warranty expires, but it is an import.Problems I have found1. Ground way to short, ill fix this after warranty is expired.2. Ground clamp ( to weak) ill fix this after warranty is expired.3. Air line (replace it) 70 lbs of air on this thing, and in the heat, it doesn't hold up.4. Buy extra stand off, I free hand a lot of cutting and the original one is now history. (update) stand off is to short, to close to material. looking for replacement that fits the cup size, hyperthem stand off product doesnt work on these tips.5. Cut is to large, wide, I can cut finer lines with a gas torch and 000 tip.6. Buy extra consumables, this thing eats them, I purchased the 40 pcs from amazon I Have used 2 full sets over last month. 2 cups, 2 tips and 2 inter electrodes , Be sure to purchase the correct ones for the system you purchased. Great machine for us home project people.
I wanted to get a plasma cutter for my next Mustang project. I checked around a lot and settled on the Lotos LTP5000D. I wanted the pilot arc function and it's a 50 amp, dual voltage machine that's supposed to cut 1/2". I read a lot of reviews and also checked out some on-line welding publication articles. The LTP5000D kept popping up on "best of" lists mainly as best value or best performance out of a low buck machine. Time to take a chance so I bought the machine. Before using it, I checked out some youtube un-boxing and first use videos. One guy melted the ground cable, most probably because his ground location wasn't cleaned up where he connected it. I pretty much echo the comments of the videos I watched. The machine is small and lightweight, which is good. The power and ground cables are too short. After talking to an electrician, I purchased 25 feet of 10-3 SOOW cord to make a new power cord. I have 220V in my garage so I also had to replace the turn and lock plug that came with the machine. About $75 extra so far but that's fine with me. I plan on changing the ground cable in the future.I wanted my first test to be substantial. I found a 5"X5", 3/8" thick, 14' long box beam at a salvage yard that I'm going to use to make a frame table for the Mustang project. I wanted to cut it in half lengthways to make two C-channel beams. The little wire stand-off that came with the torch to keep the tip off the work is not very effective. I made a sled out of 1-1/2" square tubing that allows the torch tip to stay about 1/8" off the work surface and slide along a straight edge. I set the air pressure to the recommended 75 PSI and started the amperage at 35. I ended up putting the pressure up to about 85 and the amperage to 50. I'm new to plasma cutting so it does take some getting used to. It took me about 20 minutes per side to make the cuts. The cuts were good for my ability. Go too fast and there will be slag build up. I ground the rust off the ground location and the ground cable never heated up. The longer power cable worked well too.All in all, I think this is a good machine for the money for what I'll need it for. No way was I going to pay $1500 or more. I also purchased some extra consumables. The 40 piece set for just under $100 dollars also on Amazon. I've heard some guys say they were able to find this on other sites like Newegg for under $400 but being in Hawaii, Amazon's free shipping is a deal maker.
