KNG Heavy Duty Waterproof Vinyl Apron – Black

I wash dishes for a living and I've purchased two of these over the years along with the "waterproof" aprons of other companies and these are honestly my favorite. For one, these are truly, totally waterproof. I could spray myself directly in the chest with a dish sprayer and there's no way it's getting through the rubber coating. I've never had any problems with corrosive chemicals (like industrial sanitizers) getting through nor harming the coating (though to be fair I've only gotten some on myself once). For two, it's heavy-duty, durable fabric that provided you don't have an evil center agitator clothes washer that likes to shred clothes (let's face it, nothing is safe from that)... should last a very long time. I've had other aprons get absolutely destroyed in two washes. I admittedly hang dry mine, but the rubber doesn't sustain any wear after a year of washing five days a week. The stitching can start to unravel along the sides where they hold on the straps, but this is an easy fix and practically a given. Three, I absolutely LOVE that the straps are stitched in rather than a single strip that's just threaded through the sides. A lot of better quality aprons for whatever reason overlook this and inevitably ride up through an eight hour shift, especially if you're constantly running around a busy kitchen. The only downside really is that these are so heavy-duty that they can be a bit hot when you're working in an already hot kitchen, but what it lacks in breathability it makes up for in waterproofing. It also makes me look like I might know how to disappear a body. That could either be a pro or con depending on how you look at it. 😅

Great Value I got this because I started doing hobby stone crafting and I use a water fed stone polisher. There is a lot of spray that comes off and I work outside and wanted a waterproof apron. Picked this up and was worried it would not be heavy duty enough for what I was doing. It came and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The seam stitching is good and doesn't look like it will come loose. It fits well and the tie strings are thick and durable. They don't look like they will fray or break anytime soon. It keeps me dry and takes the punishment of small chucks of rock because I also use it when doing some of my stone sawing as well. A good price and a quality apron. I'm satisfied with it so far. I do hunting and plan to use this when dressing game kills as well.

We use these in our kitchen for all of our staff to use for dishwashing. They work awesome, keep our team dry and are pretty comfortable to wear for long periods of time. We have noticed with regular cleanings by hand we get about 4-6 months out of the aprons before they start to crack and let water through, so we end up replacing them 2-3 times a year. For the money though, it's hard to complain.

I realize that this waterproof apron is likely purchased by people who want to stay dry while working with water. I bought it with a different purpose in mind. We had a wet winter this year on the West Coast. As a result, it's been a banner year for weeds in our neck of the woods. After my first day of weed-whacking in early spring, I was covered from head to toe with clingy, wet, green debris. This required immediate action. I purchased an inexpensive pair of knee-high rubber boots (also good for walking through puddles, mud, and poison oak) and the vinyl apron. Now, with my elbow-high gloves, black boots, black apron, cap, plastic glasses, and overhead ear protectors, I'm well-suited for weed-whacking (or for a costume party). I've worn the apron for weed-whacking about six times so far, and it's kept my pants and shirt amazingly clean and free from staining. And the apron itself is easy to hose off after a tough day in the weeds.

I bought this to stay dry while giving my parents' 3 Jack Russell Terriers a bath outdoors. I am 5ft 3in, 99lbs and it fit just right. Comparing to the photo of the gentleman wearing this apron, the length ended mid-shin level for me which was perfect with my rain boots. I was afraid the neck strap would be too long but hung just right so the top part of me and my shirt stayed dry. This was a nice surprise since I was planning on using a safety pin to adjust the length if it was too long, which I didn't have to do. The description stated longer ties for the back but this was not an issue for me. The apron stayed in place and I didn't have to adjust or re-adjust anything. With my knee high rain boots, I stayed completely dry bathing 3 dogs. After I was done, the apron dried on its own and I just wiped it clean to be rolled and put away in a dry place. I told my husband he could borrow my apron for Halloween because apparently, according to the other reviews, this is a popular costume for those who love the TV show Dexter.

I ordered an apron from this same company 4 years ago. It lasted well for 4 years, so I'd give it at least 4 stars. HOWEVER, when I clicked the same link to order another of the same aprons, and then ordered it, I discovered the former apron has been replaced by a much cheaper- and lower-quality apron. The vinyl is much, much thinner; the neck loop and apron ties scream "cheap cheap" and it's obviously not the same product that they used to sell. They also took the words, "Heavy Duty" out of the item title....because it is definitely not heavy duty anymore. Very disappointed, and sent the apron back the next day and ordered a heavy duty apron from another seller.
