During the refrigerator's defrost cycle, the defrost water flows through the defrost drain into the drain trough. If the defrost drain is frozen, the defrost water will overflow the drain trough and leak onto the floor.

No more leak, just wish somebody had told me how to remove old part.
Fixed the problem, just wish somebody had told me how to remove the old one properly. You have to tilt it in a certain direction until it pops loose. I just tried to wiggle & pull it out & ended up cracking my evaporating pan. Don't remember exactly which way you were supposed to tilt it to get it to pop loose. It was in one of those YouTube videos, the one I watched right AFTER I cracked my evaporating pan.

A helpful tip
Fixed my problem, but getting the rubber boot over the drain tube on the bottom of the defroster can be really tight. Since you've got your heat gun out to melt the ice in the defroster tray, hit the rubber boot with some heat to help increase the flexibility. Much easier!

It only took me two years to resolve this.
No more leaking. Cheap easy fix.Just make sure you fully defrost. It will take a long time. Put a fan in the freezer.

Worked for me.
The combination of this new part, defrosting the entire refrigerator and freezer, and thoroughly cleaning dust and debris from the fan and entire area under the refrigerator completely eliminated the ice build up in the bottom of my freezer and subsequent water running out onto the floor.
