Hooked it up, SWR on channel 1 is 1.0, and channel 40 is 1.3 out of the box. Incoming transmissions are clear, but I haven't been able to establish a range yet.

The product feels a little flimsy at first inspection but this antenna works very well for its price point. I’m averaging 4-5 miles amplitude modulation and 8 miles single sideband mobile to mobile communications with a factory stock Uniden Bearcat 980ssb radio.

Bottom line. This is a piece of junk! Totally worthless. It comes in a small box and you screw the handle together for a proper length. Then you bolt the dull blade to the handle. Five swings and the handle bends like rubber. Apparently the metal is made from soft steel and not tempered. Don't even think of whacking down more the subtle grass. If the plant has any woody fiber to it, the handle will bend trying to wack it down. It can't handle anything larger then 1/16th inch in diameter. This is some cheap piece of foreign crap. If not the worst, it comes close to being the worst thing I have ever purchased. However, the box it came in was descent. I don't know where you can buy a decent one. I checked a couple big box stores and a farm store and they had none to sell.

Totally happy with the antenna, was exactly what my husband wanted and very speedy shipping.

Works great Low swr right off the bat.
