The Secret Life of Chio Miyamo
Chio's School Road had come up on Amazon and after reading a fellow reviewer's glowing endorsement, I ordered a copy. I am giving it 4.5 stars; it is a quite amusing comedy about a girl who loves video games and sometimes this hobby sends her imagination into overdrive while making her way to school. Readers young and old should be able to identify with Chio as she tries to get out of difficult spots, often thinking of how a video game character would handle the situation. When I was younger, I wished life could be like the comic books. Years later, I wish it could be more like a P.G. Wodehouse novel. The only chapter of which I did not care for was an encounter with a biker; it just seemed a bit too over the top. Overall, Chio's School Road is off to a promising start.

Chio’s School Road is Hilarious
I really liked the anime, I thought it was the comedy of the season, so I decided to buy the manga too. Love this series.

One of the best comedy manga in years.
In a summer anime season dominated by giant titans, germ attacks, badmitton players and demon lords from another world, one girl stands above all others as the queen of comedy. And that girl....is below-average high school freshman, Chio Miyamo! But seriously, Chio's school road is the best comedy airing right now. Every chapter is another day of Chio walking to school in the morning, getting up to hijinx and meeting up with her awesome supporting cast. I must recommend this story in all it's forms.Chio Miyamo is a girl who just wants a drama free high shool. She's also a huge fan of western video games. Ordinarily, these two things would not contradict each other, but this is not an ordinary slice-of-life story. I the first issue, staying up all night playing assassin's creed inspires Chio to walk to school on the rooftops. And things only get weirder from there. Volume one only begins to introduce the great back up characters, from delinquent Andou to Chio's best friend ( and generally terrible person) Manana, but I assure they will shine with time. I look forward to reading along with this series.
