This might be alright to use for an auctioneer, if the price were lower. It's priced at $130 for work that looks like something I could have picked up at a flea market. I won't be giving this as a gift. The outer box looks moderately nice, with a good latch, but even the outer box has issues. There are a couple of burn marks on my case, there are two or three spots cut wrong and carved in with the wood, the bottom of the box isn't finished, and there is glue all over the exterior.The interior of the box is a velvet imitation and has been hot glued in. It's loose in multiple places and the hot glue is exposed. There's also a loud off gassing smell. Everything was in cellophane. I aired it out but it still smells days later. The gavel plate does not have laser printing, thankfully, but it has a few error cuts on it that were just smoothed in.. The holder still has rough cuts, and the gavel itself has glue spots, as well as several spots of rotten or notched pieces in the wood. It's not unattractive altogether, but it isn't nice quality and is not giftable as it is. I was highly disappointed.

Very nice gavel set. It comes with a nice wooden box. This would be very easily giftable. It does have a strong smell, but it fades the longer it's out of the packaging.

The item itself is very well done, with great wood quality and man -made from one of the oldest city Maras in Turkey. If you looking for something special, this is the one.
