HORI Fighting Edge Arcade Stick with Hayabusa buttons and joystick - PS4 - PS3 - PC (PS4//)

Premium, understated quality that's easy to keep clean-looking. I find clear fightsticks start to look a bit nasty after you use them for a while unless you wipe it down after every single session. Buttons feel very satisfying as you'd expect in this price range. Haven't tried it on my PS4 yet but it works a dream on PC.

A good fightstick whose reputation holds up.

Despite being released over a year ago in Japan this stick has only just been released in the UK. It's been selling at 20000 yen in Japan, 200 usd in the US and 200 euros in Europe. I've had my eye on this stick ever since its release in Japan but didn't buy while living there due to its size and difficulty it might pose bringing it back to the UK. Finally it has been released here at a reasonable price of approximately 150gbp. This stick feels sturdy and the main advantage of this one being that it has a metal top making it easier to clean compared to other sticks. I hope more peripheral makers will be encouraged to make higher quality products such as this. If you play a lot of fighting games such as Tekken, Soul Calibur or Street Fighter then this is probably a worthwhile investment. (Personally I have played more than 300 hours of Tekken 7.) The other option is to build your own stick which seems to be popular but personally I prefer to go with a pre-built solution such as this. Apparently this uses Hayabues parts rather than commonly used Sanwa parts. I'm not that familiar with the different parts and their feel but I do know that Hori arcade sticks are very popular in general and seem to get good feedback from competitive players. I do recommend doing a youtube search for this stick. There's one guy (avoiding the puddle) who comments regularly on Tekken 7 Tournaments and he seems to rate this stick highly. I've only had this stick for a day but will try and update this review at a later date.

Aesthetically I love this stick so much. Functionally I love the weight, the buttons are smaller than my previous stick which makes it easy to utilize all buttons and they feel great to press. However, there is one fairly major flaw. The height which the joystick is mounted does not take into account the extra depth added by the steel faceplate. As a result, the joysticks movements are slightly more restricted than they should be. The actuator hits the edge of the opening at almost the same time as it hits the gate. This gives an uncomfortable, grinding sensation. For this reason, as much as I love the overall style of this arcade stick, I can not recommend it.

The amount of matches where Blue Goku has missed his divekick ender will probably lead me into a mental institution, repeatedly banging my head on a concrete wall dressed in a medical gown at age 55 in the future. The medium button is faulty. Stay far away from this stick unless you want your mental illness to get worse.

No soy particularmente bueno en los juegos de lucha, pero hace tiempo que quería un arcade stick. Siendo sincero, soy un desastre y parece que tengo garfios en lugar de manos, pero en un ejercicio de masoquismo me empeño en jugarlos. Tentado por una excelente oferta en Amazon y por tener compatibilidad con PS4/5 y PC, me decidí a comprar este modelo para usarlo tanto en juegos de lucha como títulos retro que se presten a un mejor control usando un mando arcade. Este modelo salió en 2012 y, en muchos aspectos, es la culminación de una larga trayectoria de Hori en fabricar mandos arcade dentro de su inmensa experiencia fabricando accesorios de consolas - si no fueron los primeros en hacer un mando de terceros para la Famicom, les faltó diez minutos. Ofrece un diseño minimalista para el tamaño que tiene, siendo mucho más ancho de lo habitual, lo que también le confiere la ventaja de ofrecer espacio de sobra para apoyar las manos como prefieras. Si juegas como yo, que parece que voy a apoyar el codo y pedir una caña entre combate y combate, te vendrá de fábula pero asegúrate de disponer del espacio suficiente. La disposición de botones corresponde al esquema de Namco Noir, con un botón OPTIONS en la esquina superior derecha y el HOME de PlayStation en la izquierda. En un lateral se encuentran los botones L3 y R3, además de interruptores para el modo Torneo (desactiva los botones de interfaz como HOME y OPTIONS para evitar que te descalifique una pulsación accidental), la asignación de la palanca a analógico izquierdo, derecho o digital y una opción para reasignar los botones. Esta opción permite cambiar la asignación de unos botones a otros, por ejemplo cambiar cuadrado y triángulo, pero no grabar macros de ningún tipo ni asignar más de una pulsación a un solo botón. Todo el mando utiliza el sistema Hayabusa propio de Hori. Acostumbrado previamente a los Sanwa, puedo decir que la palanca me parece prácticamente igual que una Sanwa JLF. Los botones tienen una buena sensación táctil: hacen ruido, pero a mí me gusta darles mamporros y los prefiero así. Son de un perfil más bajo a lo que estoy acostumbrado y su sensibilidad es muy superior a la de cualquier otro botón que haya utilizado antes, con una textura rugosa y ligeramente más convexos que los Sanwa. Particularmente, registro algunos problemas de entrada con el mando, pero los atribuyo a mi muñonez porque un amigo con un rango alto en Street Fighter V hace los combos sin perder un frame. Encima él usa un Qanba con disposición Vewlix: siempre es el músico, no el instrumento. Se puede modificar cómodamente abriendo el arcade stick con una llave hexagonal y la mayoría de botones y palancas deberían encajar sin necesidad de recortar la carcasa. En Internet se pueden encontrar plantillas para imprimir un vinilo y personalizarlo, pero particularmente prefiero el tacto antideslizante del aluminio y su facilidad de limpieza. También hay modificaciones más avanzadas, como instalar otra placa y hacer un dual mod para poder usar el mismo Fighting Edge en Switch y consolas Xbox, con algunas limitaciones. Personalmente no puedo sacarle ningún aspecto negativo. Cuando Hori estrenó sus palancas y botones Hayabusa eran toda una incógnita, pero pasados los años se ha visto que son piezas igual de fiables que las que producen Sanwa y Seimitsu. Su gran tamaño lo hace cómodo, aunque sea un poco armatoste y el único reparo que le pondría es que estés prevenido de que los botones actúan con mirarlos. Es un arcade stick de gama alta, al que cualquier inconveniente que se le puede poner estará basado en aspectos puramente subjetivos.

Acquisto dovuto e desiderato con l'ambizione di provare a giocare un grande gioco come Tekken sette con questo dispositivo super professionale! Ottimo packaging e rispettando le tempistiche di arrivo!! È stato un ottimo acquisto anche dal punto di vista sia tecnico che performante, tasti disposti per poter utilizzare tutta le dita (anche se per chi è alle prime armi ci vorrà molta pratica ma una volta imparate le gestualità, sarete super professionali), levetta ben piazzata e molto precisa ma occorre ben direzionare la levetta stessa. Unica pecca: si interfaccia soltanto su PlayStation quattro e non su altri dispositivi come pc o Xbox. Il mio voto complessivo è ottimo pertanto se volete giocare giocare in maniera professionale ai vostri giochi preferiti ,ve lo consiglio consiglio!!

Nach viel Recherche habe ich mich für diesen Fighting Stick hier entschieden. Die Frage ist doch, ob man in etwas günstigeres, kleineres aus Plastik investiert, oder doch eher den nächsten Schritt wagt und somit sonstiger Modderei und Upgrade-Spielerei aus dem Wege geht. Der Stick ist super solide, die Hayabusa Teile gefallen mir persönlich sehr. Der eigentliche Control-Stick lässt sich sehr leicht betätigen und erlauben einem präziese Kombos auszuführen. Das gleiche gilt für die Tasten; diese benötigen nur sehr wenig Kraft um aktiviert zu werden. Ein Pro und Kontra zugleich würde ich sagen, denn wenn man seine rechte Hand auf dem Tasten ausruhen will, dann kann es sehr gut sein, dass man ungewollte Inputs auslöst. Andererseits bedeutet das auch das man mit sehr sanften und energiesparenden Bewegungen zu seinen Inputs kommt, man muss sich hier nie Gedanken machen ob der Knopfdruck durchging oder nicht. Die kalte Aluminium-Platte mit ihrem "Brushed Finish" finde ich auch toll. Fingerabdrücke o.ä. enstehen hier kaum, und da das Metal auch ein wenig kühlt, kommen die Handflächen nicht so schnell ins Schwitzen. Außerdem mag ich das schlichte Design ohne ein aufgeblasenes Bild und Plexifront, die angeblich sehr schnell verdrecken, v.a. wenn man mit dem Teil eine Weile lang zockt. Als Gelgenheitsspieler von Fighting Games bin ich rundum zufrieden.
