If you are looking for quality, art , a solid storyline, good characters good&naughty, and just an all around worth while book to get into then you dont have to worry about spending your money here. No dissapointment... None, zilch, nada! Worth every penny. It showed up via the handy dandy desertcart delivery guy ans was in perfect shape, not a knick or dent. I'm always wary of getting reading materials when i cant peruse the pages to find out if the story is quality enough to spend money on but hot d@mΩ im really glad I took a leap in this one. Saga has a storyline that isnt dissapointing amd the artwork in it alome can stand on its own 2. I really really really like it! It can be rough finding a story thata actually really good and well written and this one has be so happy its actually the first time i felt i really needed to poat a review on desertcart( like this is literally my first desertcart review ever) i wanted to write it to put whoever is considering buying thia things mind at ease bc the main thing i wantes to know isnif it was worth my money, if it was interesting enough and good enough of a book to soend what is roughly 3 hours of my work earnings on ut, a few days of anticipation of its delivary and days worth ir reading the thing or if it wish id not have bothered too... But honestly, this comic is amazing and i will be definetly spensing more money fir the rest of the story and I am totally pleased with what I got in thia purchase. So do it! If yiyr on the fence, yes, im as picky and particular as you are bahaha you are goid to go :-) Review: Over 1,300 pages, collecting issues 1-54; The Most Binge-Worthy Read I Have Ever Owned!!! - What can I say? Oh, I know: BUY THIS BOOK!!! The artist and the author both love the medium and after consuming this masterpiece I love THEM! I have no idea what real world rock I was under when these 54 issues were first published but I am so thankful for this beautifully collected, all-in-one volume now! I skimmed over this during a last minute round of Christmas shopping, saw some things that interested me and took a chance, ordering it for myself. I didn't want to ask anyone for it as a gift because I couldn't guarantee I would love it and I didn't want to put anyone under that stress a week away from Christmas but needless to say SAGA is AMAZING! It's mature, liberally irreverent, silly, graphic, personal, romantic, insightful, adventurous, provocative...on and on and ON!!! I have never been so overwhelmingly satisfied by what was essentially a blind purchase in my life! Without a single preconceived notion I got this 1300-page behemoth in its glossy, square bound format and was unable to put it down! Truly worthy of the designation "Graphic Novel", this book and all it's mature content is for ADULTS and is worthy of a good spot on your bookshelf. I have even considered buying a second copy so that I don't have to stress over what I do to this copy reading and rereading it! Did I say "buy this book" yet? BUY THIS BOOK! And look out, the next leg in the saga of SAGA is going to launch soon with issue #55 so hurry and visit this universe, you'll be glad you came!

Loved it!
Review:☝️Saga Compendium 1 Graphic Novel ☝️ I really enjoyed this graphic novel its issue/ book #1-54. I went into reading this not knowing much other it was about a couple of star crossed lovers that fall in love despite how taboo it was for them to be together. I’m glad I didn’t have any expectations for this compendium because it was such a unique story. Think Romeo and Juliet a couple whose family is at war with each other, they end up falling in love but in Saga their stories don’t end so quickly. They run away together and have a baby risking turning everyones world upside down if anyone found out. Instead we are following a story about people on a planet called Landfall and people on their moon called Wreath being at war with one another. This war has been going on for a long time, no one can remember a time they weren’t. We have a group of people with wings from Landfall and a group that have horns from Wreath(Distinctive features to tell them apart). Mom Alana (winged) and dad Marko (horn) both soldiers put a target on their backs having this love child and from deserting the war. A bunch of killers (freelancers) are hired to find and kill them. We follow their journey to stay alive and keep their daughter safe. We get to meet some interesting characters along their journey and see how everyone is effected by the long war that has created hate and divisions between them. There are a lot of stories unfolding in Saga I like that though the whole story we have Alanas and Marcos child telling the story. Saga has action, love, hate, war, killing, forgiveness etc. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did but can’t wait to read more. There have been a few more issues released since the end of this compendium that I will be buying and reading soon I hope 🤞 . These graphic novels are NOT for children or teens. They are graphic and is inappropriate for a younger audience. I’ll be reading Brian K Vaughan’s “Y The Last Man” compendium once I get the second half (compendium 2). I saw the new show of Y The Last Man on Hulu a couple months back liked it and found out it was a graphic novel as well.

MUST READ Fantastic volume: #1-54 of an INCREDIBLE series
A beautiful, poignant, dark, sad, and often hilarious series. Oh boy, this is a roller coaster of emotions: some of the best-written, realistically-motivated comics characters you could root for face so much struggle throughout their adventures. A huge cast of characters might be difficult to keep track of IF you read this month-to-month, but reading it straight through solves this problem (because it is so much of a page-turner that I blew through all 1000+ pages of it in about a month). MUST READ !!! The only people I wouldn't reccomend this to are those who might be put off by graphic violence or sex, but these situations occur rather infrequently and have a tangible, important effect on the story !!! So, my copy was slightly damaged at the edges but I don't care--I intend to borrow this to all of my friends who show the slightest interest so they can experience it.

A Modern Sci-Fi Masterpiece
As one of those underfed, undersunned, undersocialized yet horrifically garrulous book lovers who thinks of titles like War & Peace & Earthly Powers as light reading & feels empty without a daily dose of Yeats or Dickinson, Kierkegaard or Plato, I'm humbled (& thrilled) to proclaim from the mountaintops -- as it were -- that Saga is already among one of the greatest things I've ever read & an absolute masterpiece of fantasy/sci-fi/human storytelling

Sucked me in on page 1
Don't read a lot of graphic novels. I couldn't put this down. Wonderful storyline. Beautifully drawn. The xxx bits are a little disturbing. But I cared deeply about all the main characters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
This compendium collects issues 1-54 of the epic comic series Saga. The story is a sci-fi fantasy following Alana and Marko, two soldiers on opposite sides of a war. It is told from the perspective of their hybrid child, Hazel. The narrative unfolds as a sweeping space opera, covering great distances and long stretches of time, with a wide variety of interesting and unusual side characters and adversaries. These issues explore many themes, from family and love to broader social and moral questions. My review below is organized by volume/story arc and contains spoilers as it progresses. Art: 4.5/5 Plot: 4.5/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4.5/5 Vol. 1 On the planet Cleave, winged humanoid Alana and her husband horned humanoid Marko have a baby named Hazel while their two species are at war. Mercenaries and agents from all sides pursue them, including a robot-headed prince and a man called The Will, who comes with a lie-detecting cat. The art is captivating, and the storyline is gripping. Much of the story is told through Hazel’s narration, adding an extra element of whimsy and charm. Every page is vibrant and exciting, filled with a diverse cast of alien characters. Vol. 2 Marko, Alana, and baby Hazel are now hurtling through space with his parents, who are less than impressed with Marko’s winged wife. Meanwhile, The Will makes an unexpected alliance. I really enjoyed this collection, it continues the excitement of the first issues while adding new characters and exploring new planets. The flashbacks to how Alana and Marko met were especially fun, and the graphic art moments keep getting better as the story progresses. Vol.3 Marko, Alana, baby Hazel, and Marko’s mom have landed on the writer Heist’s planet. Things go smoothly for a while, but Prince Robot IV and The Will are still hot on their trail, and the media covering their story isn’t far behind. This was another exciting collection. Heist is quite the character, and the inclusion of the reporters adds even more depth, backstory, and political intrigue. There were several really intense and shocking moments as well. Vol. 4 There’s been a bit of a time jump, Hazel is now a toddler, and Prince Robot IV’s son has been born. Alana is working in showbiz while Marko does his best as a stay-at-home dad. But of course, problems arise as the storylines of the family, Prince Robot IV, and The Will continue to converge.I enjoyed that this volume started with a different tone, focusing on Alana and Marko, who just aren’t really cut out for the 9-to-5 lifestyle. But of course, there are plenty of other major plotlines in motion. I especially enjoyed Hazel and Sophie’s growth and character development as they continue to grow up. Vol. 5 Alana, Hazel, and grandma are separated from Marko, who is now working with Prince Robot IV. Meanwhile, Sophie, The Brand, and Gwendolyn are on an epic quest to save The Will and find the right… ingredient. This volume is packed with sci-fi action, featuring space fights across multiple planets and large scale battles. It also dives deeper into the backstory of the ongoing conflict and wars. One specific revelation from Hazel as the narrator absolutely broke my heart, but I’m hopeful I won’t have to wait too long to see it resolved. Vol. 6 We flash forward in time again, with Hazel now in school, and learn the events that led her and her grandmother to where they are. Alana and Marko have been working separately to find their daughter, and they team up with a reluctant ally on the final leg of their quest to reunite with Hazel. The reporters and The Will are also pursuing their own goals, which continue to intertwine with the other characters. A lot happens in these issues. We meet some exciting new characters while also revisiting familiar ones. There are a couple of odd spicy scenes and some graphic imagery, which I’ve come to expect from the series at this point. I was glad to get some resolution in this volume, though it still leaves a lot in motion and ends on a cliffhanger. Vol. 7 Alana, Marko, Hazel, Izabel, Petrichor, and Prince Robot are in space aboard their ship and need to land for fuel. Of course, they choose Phang, the comet where Landfall and Wreath are at war. We also get more of The Will, Sophie, and Gwen. This volume was rather gut-wrenching. A lot happened, including some time jumps, but what mostly stuck with me were the really sad, emotional events. There were some interesting new characters, and I especially liked getting more of Petrichor, they feel like a good foil for Marko and Alana. Vol. 8 Alana and the family travel to a remote wild-west planet seeking medical care after a devastating pregnancy complication. Petrichor is facing a crisis of self and finds unexpected support, and we finally learn what’s been going on with The Will. This volume was especially strange. I almost don’t know how to talk about it without risking getting flagged. It’s dark and tackles serious issues surrounding reproductive healthcare. There are moments that are incredibly sweet, and others that are truly heartbreaking, especially a scene with Hazel that had me in tears. But it ends on a surprisingly uplifting note. Vol. 9 Marko and Prince Robot’s family are traveling together with the reporters Upsher and Doff. The Will and his captor, Ianthe, are hot on their trail. The reporters offer a deal for Marko and Alana’s story, which leads them to another remote planet, with dire consequences. You know the scene in Silver Linings Playbook where Bradley Cooper’s character throws the book out the window? Yeah, I would have done that while reading this if it wasn’t on my iPad. It was just one WTF moment after another, truly devastating. I don’t know how some of these characters are going to recover from the events in this one, and honestly I’m not okay either.

Amazing Graphic Novel!!
This has been sitting on my to read list for quite a while and decided to give it a go after seeing it for such a good price. Reading the first few issues has proved to be very interesting so far and can’t wait to read more. This is definitely a must read for anyone into fantasy, sci-fi, adventure story or just looking for a long story to get immersed in for a while

Buen compendio.
