Luggage Electrix (PTB-001) Tankbag or Saddlebag Kit - Connector Only

During a month long motorcycle trip with lots of electronics (phone, GoPro, camera) I could not keep everything charged especially the phone. Purchased the connector to install on a metal side box. I used the same connector on a tank bag. Both were easy to install and are water tight. I purchased a cord that plugs into the European port on the bike and the plug on the connector so that it is only hot if I need it. This also allows easy removal of the side bag. The only negative is the price being a little high for what you get but this seems to be the only simple alternative for what I needed.

I really like this power-port. The installation was very straight-forward, and as long as you are careful in your planning and placement (remember, you are cutting a HOLE in your tankbag - you only get one shot at it), the port will not interfere with the loading of your tank bag at all. I used this port to run power to an Anit-gravity battery that was charging a number of items for me while rididng, and to power my GPS. It is sturdy and installs very securely. I recommend this product ot anyone who has runs a little on the gadget-heavy side while riding!

Ordered part # PTB-001 and received part # PTB-002 from BikerHiway. I still can use this item so I'll keep it. Will still need the PTB-001 and will order elsewhere.

This works perfect. I used to connect a solar array to a battery box. I cut the cable down the middle. I mounted the socket part into the side of a charging box. I spliced the plug end to the solar cable and spliced the socket end to the cable going to the charge controller inside the box. No I can plug the solar cable in and out of the socket as I wish. Nice and clean. Seems sturdy.I just wish they made these with 12AWG cable aswell.

This adapter works as advertised and solves a whole host of issues for me. I love how I can now plug items in without worrying about them getting wet or exposed to other elements or wandering eyes. The instructions were right on but it is so easy to figure out that they really weren't necessary. I recommend this for anybody with SAE power connectors who wants to add power to their tank bag.

Installed easily, my only advice is to be careful while tightening screws. Over tightening can warp the shape of the rubber where it meets the case and it's hard to get back into shape.

I wanted a way to run a USB charging port to my top case in a detachable manner. Someone sent me a link to this product, and how wonderful it fits the bill. The hardest bit was making the holes as they needed to be. Make the center hole so the base fits in. Drill ONE hole and put a screw in. Hold the base firmly in place and drill an opposing screw hole. Tighten those down and the other two holes will be easier to do. I'ts a great tankbag electrification kit and works quite well for that use. My only wish is that the external connection were turn 90* to make the cord leading to the bag a bit less obtrusive.
