Working very well
I've only had this up and running for about a week but it is working as expected. I have a street light directly opposite my driveway (rural road; lights are about 150 yds. apart) and the camera does give good colour imaging at night, although only in the area immediately covered by the light; the area in front of my gate, about 25' away, is not well rendered, but this is to be expected. In a location with even illumination over a wide area it would be fine. As a result I have it set to Auto, so it will revert to IR illumination when the light level drops below its "comfort zone", and the IR illumination is good. The only decision now is whether to record at 5mp @ 20 fps or 4mp @ 30, which are the options on my HikVision Turbo DVR.Worth noting is that if, like me, you have a HD-TVI test monitor which only does 1080p; the TVI signal from this camera will not show properly on the TVI setting. However, there is an extra lead on the camera with a pushbutton which allows you to cycle through various formats, and the CVBS setting came out just fine when I set my monitor to AVI, so it was possible to make initial position adjustments and if wanted, access the OSD and PTZ menus at the camera, rather than having to run back and forth to the main monitor- down a ladder and 160' away! (This camera is not a PTZ unit, but the PTZ menu allows access to many adjustments.)My previous road camera- a physically identical LTS but only 2.1mp - was running contimually for over three years (and is still perfectly functional) and I fully expect this one to be the same.
