Rockford Fosgate Prime R1693 6 x 9-Inch Full-Range 3-Way Speakers (Pair)

ive had these speakers for a couple weeks now and i will say these are the best speakers for people who cant really afford high end amps,but still want clear and loud mid range sounds from four speakers. let me explain in more detail i had the Pioneer TS-A6994R A-Series 6"x9" 5-Way 600 Watts with the Pioneer TS-A1684R A-Series 6 1/2" 4-Way 350 Watts they were powered by the Alpine MRP-F300 - Amplifier - V-Power - 4-channel. i had no clue how power hungry the pioneer 6 x9's were so of course my little alpine amp could not handle it and i couldnt afford a better 4 channel amp with more watts. and thus my music suffered because of it. and to top that the 6x9s had way too much bass because i already had a sub woofer in the back so it would sound weird sometimes were the bass would drown out allot of the voice. With all that said i bought these speakers and yes they have little to no bass, this is a fact. but if you already have a sub woofer and a weak amp these speakers are amazing, the alpine amp matches perfectly with these speakers because they do not need much power, and due to the fact that they have little to no bass they hit the highs and mids pretty well. my system sounds wayyyy and i repeat wayyyy better with these speakers, so if you have a sub woofer and a weak but high quality amp like the alpine i have these speakers are really the best and one the cheapest options out there. P.S these puppies can take allot of damage as well like some other people are saying, i have put them on full blast for along time and they have not been blown or damaged in any way, great speakers for the money

I am completely satisfied with the Rockford Fosgate Prime R1693 6 x 9-Inch Full-Range 3-Way Speakers purchased as replacement speakers for the OEM front door panel speakers in my 2009 Nissan Rogue. The installation was very easy as long as you're ok with a bit of drilling and wire splicing. Two of the four mounting holes lined up perfectly with the original holes in the door speaker well but the other two locations required drilling into the plastic speaker well in the door. The OEM connectors had to be cut off and the wires spliced to the new speaker wires. The speaker depth fit perfectly in the door and no modification of the door panels was required for the speaker face protrusion. If you're looking for concert hall sound, these are not the speakers for you. I simply wanted to replace a speaker that had gone bad in the stock stereo system. The sound quality is a noteworthy improvement over the OEM speakers. The low end tends to be a little weak but does improve at higher volume. I'm driving them with the stock head unit and they do very well. I'm suspect the low-end performance would improve if they were driven harder. I am quite satisfied with the entire audio range of these speakers after a little tweaking of the bass, treble and fade controls. Overall, these are good speakers at a great price and a huge improvement over what came with the vehicle. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a decent replacement speaker without breaking the bank.

These speakers sound good, have decent frame construction, handle power well, have a good appearance and are a good value for the money. The bass isn't as strong as it could be, but that isn't a major issue. Why not a five star rating? Because the wiring that came with the speakers was bad. So who uses the speaker wire that manufacturers include, right? No one. But if a manufacturer sends out wiring that has no conductivity through one of the crimped tabs, it does make you wonder about how the rest of their quality control is doing... Anyway, overall, worth the purchase.

1977 corvette fitted rear box upgraded from Kenwood 4ohm 200Wpeak 50Wrms 2way to Rockford Fosgate 4ohm 120Wpeak 60Wrms 3way stereo used is 4X50Wrms no crossovers. Speakers are paired is 4X6 polk audio 50Wrms on dash. It seems like a side grade but the difference in sound quality is incredible. Bass is no longer hollow but instead it is as punchy and clean as you can expect from a high quality 3way speaker. Mids are clean even during very heavy bass overlaid with vocals. I tested this with multiple heavy beat vocal electronic music. I can't review the highs because due to my setup there is no way for brights to each my ears. The speakers perform really well without distortion and don't seem to be hurt by the lack of passive crossovers. Only at max volume I heard distortion but at that point it was so loud I could only tolerate it for 3 seconds. Overall my sound quality has gone from a C- to a B+. Really the only thing missing to round my sound is a louder bass but that is something achieved with a subwoofer not with a 3 way speaker. Slight increase of the bass from the stereo unit gives plenty of bass for the non bassheads out there. The loudness is there specially for the small cabin on a 77 corvette. I would recommend this speakers to anyone looking to upgrade stock speaker or low end aftermarket speakers.

So far so good, great sound from them and seem to be holding up.

well i hooked them up to a kenwood stereo kdc-348u pushing 22 x4 rms 50 x 4 watts max and i gotta say i am very impressed for the money i have spent , the sound is amazing, i could have spent $75 on some walmart pioneers instead i did some looking on amazon and ebay, i hear a lot of nonsense about people say their stereos not being able to power them , you have to look at your rms wattage on your stereo, if its stock , it probly has next to nothing rms, usually a sony 200 watt stereo is usually pushing 16 watt x4 and pioneer pushing about 18 watt x 4 , the kenwood like i said pushes 22 watt x 4 , and they are crystal clear , and RF makes quality speakers unlike sony , pioneers are over priced ... that being said , Rockford fosgate speakers and kenwood decks are where its at when it comes to sound quality, if you have any knowledge in bang for your buck , and how to get the best sound quality

Received in 3 days they fit perfect n sound good u can hear the tweeters doing what they do best. Sounds good it’s Rockford so expect nothing less of them. Going redo my entire interior in my Camaro with rockford

After browsing for 6x9's for quite a while these were among the few that would fit my car, their shallow mount depth and 3-way design made them the only real option for my 89 blazer. I have used Rockford Fosgate amps in the past, they seem like their build quality is much better than cheaper offbrands and other name brands like pioneer and kenwood. These speakers rock. Clean frequency response across the board, crisp highs and accurate hitting lows. Im running them off of a pioneer 50w/channel deck and they hit hard without distortion up to 80% max volume with some bass and treble EQ adjustments. I am extremely satisfied with these speakers and would recommend them to anyone looking to replace factory 6x9's. I had to cut the front of my speaker grilles off to fit the tweeters, which protrude from the front of the speaker but the included grilles mounted over my old ones fine. Looks a bit funky but works.
