Bag is well built and appears that it will hold up well when used as designed. Only concerns are that the tabs for “locking” the bag shut can break off if you aren’t careful and that although it says you can use it for the freezer, I wouldn’t recommend it since it doesn’t seal tightly (freezer burn). In the end, it’s a bag for storing food. Not sure what more to say beyond that besides the sealing issue, I feel that it would work just as well as a “Ziploc” style bag. I just haven't found a use for this thing yet! It certainly does not "seal" shut by any stretch of the imagination, so I am not sure what good it is for anything.

After receiving the Luumi Unplastic Bag (lunch and snack size) I found many opportunities to utilize this innovative and extremely versatile product. At first, I just used it as a sandwich bag, placing my peanut butter and jelly sandwich in it until lunchtime. Admittedly, not a very exciting first use, but it functioned well and the peanut butter and jelly that leaked into the bag from my extra zealous spoonfuls were easily cleaned off with just a paper towel from the silicone material. This was made even easier by turning the bag inside out - it’s very flexible. My next venture was to see how it would hold up in the freezer, so I filled it up partially with water, closed the bag using the tabs on the top and secured it to itself using the upper two tabs, and put it in the freezer standing upright. By the next morning the water had frozen solid but the silicon was still pretty flexible. I threw the whole thing in the microwave standing upright with the top open until it was boiling. The bag remained upright and was very warm to the touch but not too hot to handle for a short period of time. After that experiment, I took the Luumi bag with me on a trip and used it to make hot oatmeal in the mornings for breakfast - it worked great! I just threw in a packet of oatmeal and some boiling water from a teapot - instant oatmeal. Cleanup was as easy as rinsing it under hot water. The only thing I haven’t done yet is use it to bake something in the oven, but based on how it handled the boiling water, I am inclined to think that would go very well too. All in all, this is an excellent product and extremely versatile. The price point is very reasonable considering how useful it is in so many circumstances. I have the clear bag and have not yet had anything stain it. It has proven very durable as well so far - even the small tabs at the top have held up through repeated stretching and hooking/unhooking to the tabs. The only thing that took some getting used to was buttoning the tabs - it takes a little bit of practice but afterwards I didn’t have any problems. I definitely give this product 5 out of 5 stars and greatly appreciate the ability to keep some plastic out of the environment.

Great concept. Would prefer if there was a way to form a better seal.

I was very excited to try this product as I do not use plastic. I like that this is made from silicone. I do find that it is difficult to close the tabs and they can come open. Someone with limited mobility in their hands/fingers would have a difficult time with this. I have only used the bag for storing fruits/vegetables. Soft items are subject to being smashed. Overall I think this bag is good, just would like to see the closing tabs improved somehow.

I use to bring home leftovers in restaurant. When I travel, I store items that need protection from moisture, then I have for food to take home.Recommend highly
