Genuine Black Sony DK36 Magnetic Charging Dock for Sony Xperia Z2 - bulk packing ( NO RETAIL PACKING )

I actually purchased this for the xperia z3 compact that I imported from the UK based on advice from someone on reddit. The device comes with two inserts. I tried both, but the one that was in the unit to begin with gave the tighter, more secure fit. The other insert was far too wide and the unit wouldn't stand up on its own or always meet the magnetic charging ports.The angle of the dock is pretty good, but for someone that is 6'4" I actually would appreciate a more acute angle so I could view it easily when it's seated on a table. It's light and unobtrusive enough that I often use the phone with the dock connected instead of messing with the waterproofing flaps and using a more traditional charging cable.And though I know I can accomplish much with Tasker, for those that don't want to learn that application Sony's Xperia connect app actually provides some useful functions in connection with the dock. If I put my phone in this dock, but only between the hours of 10pm and 6am, it uses the app Timely as an alarm clock. When I'm done and wake up and take the phone out of the dock, it is now programmed to automatically open up and play from my News category in BeyondPod.

It works!!!I wanted a magnetic charger so I didn't have to open the flap for the other charging port every time. Which not only requires time and effort, it risks damaging the phones waterproof capabilities. So, I started searching for a magnetic charger and it seems that the 3rd time's the charm!While this charger is technically for the Z2, I have the Z3. Unfortunately, the charging docks made for the Z3 don't work with a case on the phone. So, I tried a (non-dock) magnetic charger and it was not a good experience. It was a real chore to get the charger to make a connection and if you even breathed next to it, it would unplug itself. This charging dock is so much better!This one is designed in a way that I don't have to fiddle with it to get it to make a connection. I just slide the phone in and I can hear/feel it click and that's it — it charges my phone and I don't have to deal with any annoyances. You can't really pick up the phone and use it because, well, it is a docking station. So, that is to be expected. But, unlike some other magnetic chargers I tried, you can still use (touch) the phone while it's sitting in the dock without interrupting the connection.I am glad I took the leap and ordered this charger!

This dock is so very close to perfect that it's painful.Pros:+ Removable charge cable+ Good build quality+ Anti-slip elastomeric grip ring on base+ Uses Sony's proprietary waterproof charging connectors (no need to open the flap)Cons:- Too lightweight!Other reviews already cover the good bits so let me expound on the bad. The dock is too light. When undocking your phone you must keep a hand or finger on the dock to prevent it from just coming up with the phone. The rubbery grip on the base keeps the base dock from any lateral movement but nothing keeps it from just lifting up with your phone when you motion to undock.Workaround: double sided tape... but that might not be ideal on some surfaces.

The base has a good grip on the surface and holds the phone in place. It works a lot better than I thought. You can program the phone to trigger a profile when you dock it too. Please note it doesn't come with the cable or the wall plug.

The packaging was not an issue for this, although it seemed pretty cheap it still works perfectly fine and well made magnets.Will update if anything occurs.

Works as designed, but the inserts really only work with the phone by itself or with one of the "approved" cases. It is small and light which doesn't work for a dock. You need to either attach it with velcro or weight the back of it to keep it in place.Also keep in mind this does not come with either a cable or plug so you will have to supply those separately.

This is smaller then I expected, very light and it doesn't charge well. I read a view reviews were people stated that they had problems charging there phone with it, but I did not have a problem with this .....YET. Now a few weeks after purchase it keeps disconnecting and connecting constantly, almost like it was not meant to charge Xperia Z2. I'm not an expert but I'm sure this can't be good for my phone. I would really like my money back, but I'm realistic and I know that this will not happen. I had high hopes before purchasing this, but sadly I got disappointed real fast.

I actually have two of these (my phone unexpectedly came with one) and neither of them worked. Even worse, I had a friend try out a Z1 magnetic charging dock for his Z1 phone and that didn't work either. When I went to the Sony store in my city, they couldn't even figure out how it worked. So outside of plugging it into a power source and lining it up magnetically I don't know what else you would have to do to make it charge. I gave this item two stars as opposed to one because I haven't used it enough to "hate it". Other customers have apparently gotten theirs to work and I've seen videos of people setting it up so maybe it's just me...and three Sony employees.

Acquistata ben Quattro anni fa, funziona ancora egregiamente e sulla scrivania fa la sua figura. Ottima l’inclinazione per tenerlo sulla scrivania o un qualsiasi altro piano, anche per vedere video. È interamente in plastica ad eccezione dli connettore posteriore (porta micro-USB femmina) e quello superiore dotato di calamita. Arriva con due adattatori in plastica differenti: uno per ospitarlo da solo e l’altro permette l’inserimento anche con una cover sottile e predisposta come può essere quella originale.Nella confezione non è presente nessuno cavo, quindi va utilizzato un qualsiasi alimentatore micro-USB, meglio se quello originale Sony da 1.5A.

My Sony Xperia Z2 fits perfectly in a good quality product . The delivery was faster that expected and as a customer completely satisfied with it.

El cargador funciona de maravilla. No he calculado la velocidad a la que carga, pero con la autonomía que tiene el Z2, solo necesito usarlo cuando me voy a la cama. El imán tiene bastante poder de sujeción. Como se menciona en el paquete, tiene dos railes de distinto espesor y con el más fino el móvil baila un poco, pero cuando lo pones a cargar, no andas moviéndolo. Quizá no es lo ideal para usarlo en un barco o una caravana en movimiento, pero para un uso normal en una casa, sin problemas. Me imagino que el otro raíl de mayor anchura servirá para si tienes una carcasa fina.En la base tiene un contorno de goma que hace que no resbale sobre ninguna superficie lisa. A diferencia de la dock de carga del Xperia Z que solo tenía cuatro puntos de goma, esta dock ha mejorado claramente su agarre. Y estéticamente...pues es Sony, nada que criticar.

I thought I had been sent the wrong part when it arrived as the box was so small. The stand itself is very small and could do with adding an extra inch all round. It is a little unstable, but once docked, the phone stays put most of the time.It definitely does NOT come with a charging cable, the one supplied with the phone needs to be used.I took advice from one of the previous reviewers who said that it works best by the bedside (when I mainly charge my phone overnight).Sony phones are notorious for the charging covers breaking quickly, which would also ruin its waterproof-ness with this phone! So the magnetic charging dock is a godsend to avoid the repetitive opening and closing of the mini USB cover which would eventually destroy the badly designed USB cover. And Sony do NOT want to take responsibility and even send an foc replacement cover.The dock is perfect for watching films or TV, whilst charging at the same time. It also works well with Smart Connect to programme the phone to perform various tasks, like setting the alarm, or generally setting it to nighttime mode.It is too expensive for what it is, a very small piece of plastic with magnetic piece, but it is worth having just to save the USB charging cover.

docomo純正の急速充電アダプタ05との組み合わせでは全く使えません。Z2だけでなくUltraの充電にも使えず、急速充電アダプタ05の代わりに普通のUSB出力アダプタだと問題なく使えています。また急速充電アダプタ05はZ2直刺しでは急速充電できているので、急速充電2を利用するには国内版(docomo取り扱い)ドックが必要だと思われる。
