Did not work in the UK in my t-mobile phone
I purchased the card from Amazon here in the US before my trip to the UK. When I tried to use it upon my arrival in the UK, it would not work. I was even unable to contact customer service because I could not even get a signal. I had to go to a t-mobile shop to purchase one of their SIM cards which worked perfectly. The best part was that it was free and I only had to pay for the minutes. I wish I had known about this prior to my trip. I would not recommend buying any type of SIM card outside the country you intend to visit. Buy one locally when you arrive.

Easy as could be...
I needed service for an 11 day trip to Scotland and Wales.. I didn't have a gsm/sim phone so I got a cheapy - $23 - (too cheap - what a pain for texting!) and this sim card for $5. 7ct/min for calls back to the US (and Guatemala, too). Service was fine, all over both Scotland and Wales, calls to other lebara mobiles were free. It is pay as you go, with the ability to stock up on-line (with a UK CC!), or by buying refills at any of hundreds of small stores. All in all, a great deal.

Service not too great.
I used a Lebara SImm in France that was brilliant. This particular card had no time preloaded on it, which was noted in the description, so no complaints. Except that there were simms at the airport that were roughly the same price with time on them. And I could not load the card until I got to the UK. I think the charge was listed at & cents a minute, while in fact it was 10 p a minute. On top of that their site was down most of the time. It did work, and I would use another Lebara Simm in France, but not in UK.

Cannot top-up online without UK credit card.
This SIM (at least according to the website) cannot be activated outside the UK. I managed to do so by emailing customer service, but that was a painful experience to say the least. The Lebara website is buggy and is really only set up for domestic UK customers. It is not possible to recharge the account with a US credit card (their payment provider just rejects the card). So you need to buy vouchers. Save yourself some grief and just buy a card on the high street when you get there from one of the larger carriers. The only value in buying this in advance is you know what your number will be - but take it from me - trying to get everything set up to work when you get there will just stress you out before your vacation.

Not the best prepaid SIM card for the U.K.
During my recent trip to the U.K., I used Lebara and I also used Orange and 02. Of the three telephone carriers, Lebara ranked in the middle. Orange was the worst as far as expense goes, and inability to make calls. O2 was superb with service that included a data plan and an 02 e-mail account. The rates to call from the U.K. to the U.S. were only three cents per minutes and there was no connection charge. With Lebara, there was a 60 pence connection charge and a higher rate, I don't recall but I think it was about 5 or 6 pence. Therefore, those planning to buy a prepaid SIM card for the U.K., stick to 02 rather than Lebara or Orange.

Waste of Money
Lebara SIM Card (Uk) - UK Number - Mobile SIM Cards - International Sim Card - Pay As You Go Prepaid Sim Cards Cheap International Calls Do not Buy this product, it's waste of money. You need to be in the UK to activate it for free. You can get a free sim card almost anywhere in the UK and top up at he same place. Why you want to spend $12-$13 just to get a useless sim card which you cannot top up or do anything else with it before you get to UK? I bought other sim cards from Amazon and were activated for free and top up online before my trip!

Why buy in the US?
I purchased the Lebara SIM card for the UK through Amazon. However, Lebara indicates that the SIM card cannot be activated except in the UK where the cards are free. So why would anyone buy this card in the US?
