HOPPE'S M-Pro 7 Gun Cleaner - 8 Ounce Spray Bottle

I had been using Hoppe’s 9 like everyone else for a long time. I was running low and decided to try something new. This stuff has zero scent, melts grease and oil, makes everything easy to spray down and wipe. It has made my regular cleaning much more simple. I have not noticed any wear or damage to plastic of metal parts on the exterior. I do still like #9 for soaking and scrubbing heavy carbon deposits (it’s thicker and will keep a patch wet). This stuff doesn’t leave a greasy residue, so it makes me feel like it cleans super well. Easy to spray down brushes to clean your bore. I literally just spray it everywhere inside and outside with zero issues.

This stuff is great and most importantly, it's very low-odor! I have the nose of a bionic sommelier and I really don't smell an odor. Hoppe's on the other hand is quite strong. So is Clenzoil. I used to use Clenzoil to clean my guns, but the smell is strong and would emanate from the gun, through the safe or enclosure, and into the room. Way too smelly! It's nice to have a super low-odor solution. The question is....what's in it? Hopefully it's not just water! Also, is this safe to use on the exterior of a gun? Hopefully so!

Pros: + Minimal smell + Spray bottle helps application + Works well in cleaning Cons: - May take several applications TL;DR: If you want low smell pew pew cleaner that works—this stuff is 100% for you. No surprise that this stuff works well—I purchased off of several review sites' positive ratings. True to its marketing, this stuff has very little smell and still works well to defoul your pew pew. The instructions to "soak" it (leaving it on for a few mins before scrubbing) works well on the really dirty parts. I recently serviced a pew pew that hadn't been cleaned in over a decade and this stuff was able to remove the caked on junk from the barrel and other internal parts with only a couple of applications! It also doesn't hurt that the price per oz is very reasonable as well. Be warned that this is ONLY cleaner, not a CLP, so you'll need to lubricate after using this stuff.

This stuff seems to be pretty good at dissolving the soot on my pistol parts. I'm a newb on guns and gun cleaning so the jury is still out but it works so far. Have decided to use use Nitrile gloves too.

I've used almost every gun solvent on the market. This is a good, non-stinky solvent that cleans oil/carbon/grime off of gun parts. It leaves the part clean/oil free and ready for your lube of choice. Highly recommended. 5 stars. Edit: 4/26/15 Used this gun cleaner recently and the spray nozzle froze up and broke. Basically, it no longer sprays and is still more than half full. I got on Amazon to buy another bottle of this cleaner (I can dump my unused cleaner into the new bottle as it gets used) and saw that the price of this cleaner has DRASTICALLY increased. At the current listed price, this cleaner is not just outright expensive, it is highway robbery. Unbelievable that they think they can charge this amount for such a small bottle of cleaner. I bought a competitors product instead and have been happy with it thus far. At the old price, this was a 5 star product. Due to the drastic price increase, this product is no longer the same value that it used to be. 4 stars.

Easy to use, seems to lube well. Certainly doesn’t leave the heavy residue other products leave behind.

I received a 2 oz sampler of this product and was immediately sold. This stuff is just perfect! A couple of sprays really loosens the grime and makes it very easy to clean! I use this on all my pistols and rifles and it literally removes all the gunk! M-Pro did a good job with this stuff. I really like using this product for the purposes of cleaning versus using a CLP (Cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant). For one, the CLP is very hard to work with for the purposes of cleaning. I feel like a grease ball after having used it for a few hours after a shoot. Plus it feels like it takes forever to get the gun clean with CLP. Using the M-Pro 7 Gun Cleaner instead makes the job of "cleaning" go much faster without greasing up your area and hands. Then after cleaning just do the normal spot lubing on the firearm (no need to get your area or hands greasy grimmy for this) and you're done. Overall, using this stuff to clean versus CLP saves both time and energy not to mention keeps your area and hands cleaner!

Not that this stuff needs another 5 star review but it certainly deserves it. This cleaner is truly outstanding. I use it as the first step in cleaning all of my semi-auto handguns (spray everything down with M-Pro 7, then agitate with standard nylon brushes , and wipe down with microfiber towel, then use a nylon bore brush , and follow up with bore swabs until clean). It does an incredible job both inside the bore and everywhere else. Works equally well on steel and polymer frames. It has virtually no odor and does not leave any oil or residue behind which allows me to get my firearms spotlessly clean and then apply lubrication only where it needs to be. I like to follow up with a quick swab of Breakfree CLP down the bore and small drops of Lucas extreme duty gun oil via a needle applicator at the friction points. This product is what allows my entire cleaning routine to be quick, painless, and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Got this after seeing all the hype in the reviews about this cleaner. Does it clean better than hopes or other products? Dont know but what i like its not messy with the spray, does not smell and it cleans
