This adapter lets you play a Japanese SFC cartridge on a North-American SNES without taking anything apart or wrecking the inside of your SNES. There are indeed a *few* games that might be worth playing this way even if you don't know Japanese, but hopefully, you already know why you're buying this.

I bought this instead of a Famicom to play Japanese Famicom games. It's cheaper than buying a Famicom on Ebay and it works. I bought a lot of games online and tested it and it does allow them to play on the SNES. It has been clamping pretty TIGHT on the inserted Famicom games (it mentions this in the manual), it takes a bit of force/prying to get them free. It ejects normally from the actual SNES, and it doesn't seem to be damaging the Famicom games so not a big deal. It does also work for SNES games (you obviously don't need to use it if you're using this for a SNES, but the option to just leave the adapter in is nice.

This adapter is the perfect device for playing Super Famicom games on your SNES without needing the Japanese console! It feels a little wobbly when putting cartridges on the slot and when you put the adapter in the SNES, but it has no issues running games at all and works feels just like you're using an actual SF console. And of course it plays SNES as well 5 put of 5 Purchase!

The adapter works well, and the components are made of high-quality materials. However, some Super Famicom games that have multiple pins on the left and right sides of the board won't work.

Worked great on Street Fighter II Turbo and DBZ Super Butoden 2. Heard of issues with games with the FX chip but I haven’t tried them yet. I’m getting great deals on Japanese Super Famicom games.

This worked well in my US Super Retro Trio system. It allowed me to play Super Bonk 2!

Just throwing my hat into the ring, I should have read the reviews but I didn't understand the SNES/SFC as well as I thought. This item does NOT work on ALL games. 99% of games, sure, but if your cart has extra pins then it will not work. Games like Kirby All Star and Mario RPG have extra pins on either side of the main pin board. You can see this in the console itself, where games are inserted, there is one main chip input and two smaller onse beside it. The female side of the adapter has the same layout, takes in these inputs, but the male side only passes the MAIN pins down to the console. This means these popular games will not work. Good luck and I hope you read this before you purchase!

Retro games in the US have become a racket for various reasons, so buying the Super Famicom cartridges is often a really effective workaround if you aren't just trying to make a quick buck off a retro lover. This converter has been really reliable for me.

Les jeux authentiques sont beaucoup moins chers dans leur version japonaise, c'est donc une bonne option pour y jouer sur une SNES sans avoir à les modifier (couper). En plus, pouvoir jouer à des titres qui n'ont jamais atteint ce continent c'est cool. C'est vraie que ca fonction pas avec le chip FX, mais pour les autres reste toujours fonctionnel. Les plastique est rigide et ne reste pas coince dans la SNES. 👌🏻

It doesn’t pass through all games unfortunately. Yoshis island works fine while star fox does not. So depending on your needs this may or may not work. I’m keeping it anyways since I still need it for the games that do work.

I have only 2 Japan games Starfox and Mario Kart, and both doesn't work. No idea who prepare the booklet of the converter since doesn't mention any incompatibility, in other hand mention full compatibility.... What to do now? Return product? Thought to the garbage? Disappointed!
