Q: I don't use the remote. I've had these lights for about a year. All of a sudden the strobe function is kicking in and the lights go on and off.

I have had a similar issue. 1) Are you plugged directly into the 12v/DC power supply? Or use the small controller box? 2) If the controller box is plugged-in, remove it to see if the strobing continues. 3) If they’re flashing in unison—it’s from the controller or power supply. 4) If the strobing is out of sync: then, most likely, the LED is dying internally. (As LEDs do... especially if power isn’t “perfect” for them as designed by the manufacturer.) Good luck!
