Merula Cup XL Midnight (Black) - The Menstrual Cup for Those Very Heavy Days

I needed a bigger cup to help me get through the 2nd day of my cycle, which can be challenging when it falls on work days as I’m often traveling. This cup has been a game changer. Usually, I’m changing my La Fleur cup out every two-to-three hours on my heavy day, but this has allowed me 6 hours! The first time I used it, it was a bit uncomfortable but the discomfort has dissipated with each subsequent use!

Generally, I have one day of my cycle that is equivalent to the red wedding happening in my whoo haw. No amount of repositioning my diva cup kept me from being a leaky, clott-y faucet. Previously, I had to be near a bathroom the whole day in case that moment comes when you feel the lava gush releasing from your nether regions and need to excuse yourself immediately for fear of having to treat mother nature's monthly gift as a blood borne pothagens spill on aisle 5. THIS TIME, however, my new bad boy of a cauldron collected that red rain like a champ. I only had a small leak after 6 hours or so. The cup is slightly firmer than a Diva cup, but not by much. Removal was fairly easy, but the base is less grippy than my other cup and visions of dropping this into a public restroom toilet had me hanging onto the ladder stem for dear life. Don’t pull a Rose and let Jack find his final resting place in the deep, dark waters of your local sewer. Hang onto that stem! CONS: This cup is larger than your average cup and my downstairs was like a tight lipped baby suspiciously eyeing a spoon when their parent tries to convince them that the incoming airplane with food on it requires you to open up wide. Nothing a little lube can't fix, but you're probably going to want to just shove the thing up there when your patience runs out. Don't do that. You'll have to pull it out and reposition it again and you've probably already spent enough time on the toilet at that point. Just be persistent and be prepared for plenty of hand washing. Strongly recommend this product if your uterus won’t stop throwing a giant tantrum every month simply because you aren’t with child. Give it the binky it deserves.

It does feel uncomfortable or hurt pretty terribly if you put it in wrong. I have learned a couple ways about this thing since it's the most effective menstrual item I now own, so you CAN avoid the feeling of having yourself gutted. It takes some adjustment, but for me personally it works wonders.

Had been using the super Jennie since 2020 and it has been such a game changer for my heavy flow. I still had to change it after every 2 hours or so before I experienced leakage. I also didn't like the stains left on the cup. Very happy to find out that there were bigger cups available, and this one also comes in a black size. Now I can go 5 hours without changing it, and 0 leaks during bedtime after the 2nd day of my period. After the 2nd day, I can go 8 hours without leaks!! Love the color of the cup. One thing I have to say is, it's difficult to get the cup out with just pinching the base, because of how big it is and the material is more firm. My fine motor skills aren't also the best. But using the stem, I am able to hook my finger in and pull it down enough to release the seal so that I can pinch it.

This thing really hurt and caused excess cramping that was only alleviated once removed. There's a reason most cups are made with thinner, more pliable silicone. One can make a high capacity cup without it being this uncomfortably hard. Wouldn't be surprised if this thing didn't give my dang cervix a hickey. The suction was insane and painful, even after trying different tried and true methods to lessen it. Cups are obviously not returnable products so purchase at your own risk!

Assez difficile à mettre alors que je porte des cups depuis 16 ans, donc rodée. Commandé car flux hémorragiques très handicapants au travail comme la nuit, avec changement toutes les 2h minimum. Et une culotte menstruelle en plus est obligatoire en plus d'une cup. Pour moi elle n'est pas assez rigide et ne se déploie pas une fois insérer. J'ai abandonné l'idée qu'elle puisse se déployer en haut comme les autres, il faut que j'attende un long moment avant qu'elle prenne enfin forme et se déploie. Du coup je compte sur ma culotte menstruelle le temps qu'elle s'installe correctement. Sinon niveau confort, une fois bien ouverte, elle est confortable et la contenance me permet de dormir 1h de plus la nuit entre chaque réveil pour la changer, et toute les 3h en journée aussi.

E' davvero troppo grossa e rigida! Un vero peccato perché sarebbe stata la coppetta perfetta: non avendo i forellini, ed essendo così rigida, fa un sottovuoto molto potente, tiene bene, è molto capiente quindi si può stare senza cambiarla fino a 12 ore, il colore nero e il packaging nella bustina di pizzo viola e nera sono davvero eleganti, ma.....da seduta fa un male cane!!! E' davvero troppo grossa e rigida, si sente molto ed è fastidiosissima, premetto che non sono una principiante, ho già avuto diverse esperienze con altre coppette prima, quindi sono sicura che è inserita benissimo, ma il problema è proprio la forma. Il suo più grande vantaggio, è anche il suo più grande difetto... anche l'estrazione è più complicata delle altre coppette, perché essendo larga anche alla base (a differenza delle coppette classiche che sotto hanno una base più ristretta) si fa fatica ad afferrarla con i polpastrelli per schiacciarla e rompere il sottovuoto. La ricomprerei? Nì...diciamo che la sto usando solo nei primi 2 giorni del ciclo, i più intensi, perché sono disperata e ne ho davvero bisogno, ma nei giorni successivi la sostituisco con una coppetta classica mooolto più stretta perché il fastidio è davvero insopportabile! Mi sarebbe piaciuto poterla utilizzare per tutto il ciclo.. vabbè, pazienza...tutto sommato il suo lavoro lo fa e anche bene, quindi non posso neanche bocciarla...dico senza infamia e senza lode

Je suis peut-être un cas isolé mais lorsque j'ai inséré ma cup, au déploiement j'ai senti une forte aspiration qui m'a fait un bref mais intense pic de douleur. Ça été très court, si bien que ça ne m'a pas traumatisé plus que ça sur le moment. Mais en me redressant (j'étais assise sur les toilettes), j'ai commencé à ne plus entendre, perdre la vision, avoir la nausée et ne plus sentir mes membres :j'étais en train de faire un malaise. Je me suis allongée au sol, j'ai attendu que ça passe. Je me suis relevée, et 2 secondes après, j'ai commencé à retomber dans les vapes. Je me suis donc décidée à retirer la cup. Après ça, plus d'évanouissement mais des contractions, et elles ont duré un moment. J'ai mis un certain temps à me sentir mieux. Je précise que je portais déjà des cup avant et que je n'ai jamais fait ce genre de réactions. Mais les cup habituelles étaient plus petites, raison pour laquelle je voulais cette cup XL car j'ai un flux abondant, que mes cup actuelles fuyaient et puis comme j'ai accouché, je pense qu'elles ne sont plus adaptées. Bref, je ne sais pas si c'est la taille, ou le pouvoir d'aspiration.. Qui m'a fait cet effet.. Je précise qu'il n 'y a pas de petits trous anti ventouse, est ce dû à cela..? En attendant j'ai remis les cups habituelles avec des serviettes lavables en plus.

Ich habe mittlerweile die vierte Tasse und die Merula XL ist die perfekte Ergänzung zur normalen Merula. Angefangen habe ich mit M. L..a. Die war mir zu klein, obwohl ich so bestellt hatte, wie empfohlen. Danach bin ich auf eine kegelförmige umgestiegen. Hat super geklappt, nur an den starken Tagen, ist sie immer unten etwas raus gerutsch. Das war beim Tragen unangenehm und so bin ich schließlich auf die normale Merula gestoßen. Sie hat etwas weniger Volumen, als eine kegelförmige normale, aber wirklich minimal. Der große Vorteil: dadurch, dass man die kleine Leiter kürzen kann, hat auch an den starken Tagen nichts mehr raus geschaut - also ideal bei niedriger Zerfix. Doch nach einiger Zeit ist sie gerade an den starken Tagen nicht mehr dicht gebliebenen. Darum bin ich wieder auf die Suche gegangen und habe die XL entdeckt. Die ist wirklich ein Riesen Teil - Fassungsvermögen im Vergleich siehe Bilder. Nach dem Einführen ist sie komplett dicht und an den starken Tagen ein zuverlässiger Partner. Das Material ist aber etwas fester/härter als bei der normalen. Generell muss man bei Merula erst etwas probieren, bis sie zuverlässig sitzt. Dadurch, dass ich zuvor am ersten Tag die kleine drin hatte, war der Weg schon vorgegeben und ich hatte keine Probleme mit der XL. Führt man sie aber zu weit ein, oder entfaltete sie sich nicht gleich richtig, kann es sein, dass sie unangenehm "zieht". Mit etwas Übung klappt das aber bald. Beim Entfernen muss man sie etwas eindrücken, so dass das Vakuum verschwindet, dann geht sie ganz leicht raus. Für mich sind die beiden perfekt für meine Periode, nie wieder ohne.

Ich habe nach einer großen Menstruationstasse gesucht und bin hier fündig geworden. Sie nimmt 50ml auf und das gibt einem schon ein sicheres Gefühl - vor allem bei einer starken Periode ( die ersten zwei Tage). Allerdings finde ich sie sehr unvorteilhaft in der Anwendung. Zu Hause mag es mal noch gehen , da hat man Zeit , ist entspannter und kann minutenlang probieren. Allerdings benutze ich sie auf Reisen nicht , dieses ewige „rumgefingere“ auf einer öffentlichen Toilette- NOGO! Ich hab es einmal versucht, war dann natürlich unentspannt somit - hat sie sich einfach nicht richtig „entfaltet“ und das war einfach nur unangenehm. Also das Handling sollte dringend verbessert werden. Meine andere Tasse ist nicht rund sondern eher oval und auch nicht so dick vom Material - hier gab es noch nie Probleme.
