Quite good for a modest price and compact size...
I bought these for use on my eeepc 901. The factory speakers are actually pretty good compared to most netbooks and even some laptops (though not as good as the eeepc 701). The problem is that the speakers are on the bottom of the netbook, so if you actually have it in you lap, a bit of the sound is muffled. The speakers also lack any frequency response below male singing voices, so you don't hear a bass-line at all and the sound in too bright and tinny. There just isn't much punch. This just wasn't cutting it for having enjoyable music or to have a rich sound when watching movies. So, I ordered these speakers. First of all, let me tell you what not to expect. The maximum power output you can get from USB really works out to about 2.5 watts for the speakers, so no USB-powered speaker is going to be super loud or have lots of bass. This especially applies to small and inexpensive speakers. The sound produced is adequate for listening to music or watching movies as long as there isn't a ton of background noise and you don't need substantial bass. These speakers do a pretty good job reproducing lower frequencies, but the tiny drivers can only handle so much volume in songs with heavy bass before they begin to distort. This is also a result of the limited power available from USB.Having mentioned the limitations, the product delivers fairly well. The sound is much richer and cleaner than the netbook speakers. The low range is present so that bass-lines can be heard, and the rest of the frequency response is well balanced and not too sibilant or bright. I would describe the sound as warm. The clips hold the speakers to my screen nicely on the sides or the top, and the retractable cord is a nice feature. The speakers have magnets in them that lock them together for use or storage and they work well for this purpose. The volume level is probably about twice as loud as my netbook speakers, but you don't have to turn movies up as loud because the sound is so much fuller it is easier to hear what is going on. The fact that the speakers can be spread apart fairly far from each other if desired is a nice touch too, as the sound field becomes widened and things start to sound stereo instead of mostly monaural. Each speaker is roughly the size of a deck of cards. The volume controls will actually use the computer's mixer levels and mute. The usb cord is plenty long for any laptop. I'm even listening to music from them as I write this on my desktop. They certainly don't compare to my 5.1 surround system, but for the size, price, and portability of USB power supply for my netbook I am very satisfied. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it could always sound a tiny bit better at high volume, but overall it is what I expected and nothing less. It is substantially better sounding than my girlfriend's macbook pro speakers, and I was always pretty impressed with their quality for a laptop.Given that my netbook and my girlfriend's laptop are known to have better than average speakers from the factory, I can say with certainty that these will be a huge upgrade from whatever your laptop has from the manufacturer. There are a bargain for the price. If you want anything with noticeably better sound and don't want to spend a lot more, you are going to either need a battery powered speaker setup or speakers that plug into an outlet. To me, that kind of destroys the point of having my tiny 9" netbook, so these are just about perfect.

Pretty good
These are pretty good speakers, especially for the price. My monitor is one with integrated speakers, and when they went out, I needed to find another solution, and since my monitor is rather mobile around my workspace, some kind of speakers that clipped on were just perfect. There were a number to choose from, but these Easy Snap speakers won out. They clip on quite well on a regular flat screen monitor. I noticed when I moved my monitor quickly, they tended to un-clip, but that was my own issue, which I solved with a little bit of adhesive velcro. The wire between the 2 reaches plenty far for any laptop. It reaches with a little extra across the top of a 22" monitor, but not down the sides. My one problem is that the wire is so thin, and I fear that at one point it will break. This is compounded by the retraction feature, where the cord pulls out of one speaker only as you need it.My one basic problem that makes me give these speakers a 4-star rating is a sound. There is a little fuzz and distortion to them. Only a couple other people can hear it other than me, but I have very acute hearing. Depending on how sensitive your hearing or how much superior quality you need your sound to be, this may or may not be a deciding factor.

Good Speakers, at a Good Price!
These Limitless Creation Clip-on Speakers are the best laptop clip-on speakers I've found. They have a good balanced sound with surprisingly full bass (for their size), with a gentle roll-off at around 250hz). They can't handle much power before breaking-up, but they are far superior in volume and tone to any stock laptop speakers I've ever heard. Stereo imaging is fair (I have cheaper speakers with better high end and separation, but they lack bass - so trade-off). The thin and retracting speakers wire connecting the pair appears to be the weak link in the chain, but otherwise they seem well built. I like them so much I'm buying a second pair in case something happens to these. Good item, at a very good price (20.).

You could pay more, but these are a great value.
These inexpensive clip-on USB connect speakers from Limitless Creations are just the ticket for boosting sound to a much more pleasing level for music and movies on my laptop. I had a pair from Go-Groove identical to these, which I had to replace only due to some damage inflicted to the connecting plug, which rendered them useless. For whatever reason, Go-Groove no longer sells them. This brand is at lease equal in quality. I like the ability to choose whether I clip them at the top or on the sides. If I didn't want to clip them at all, they will also stand alone. I am quite satisfied with the sound level and quality from these USB speakers. Really great value for the money.

These little speakers are working very well. I do worry about the tiny cord that connects them, and the magnet which holds them together is not very strong. I only use these when I am NOT going to be moving my laptop around as they do tend to fall off easily. But the sound quality ain't bad, especially for the price. Good stereo separation.

Meh - Poor volume control
These speakers are either on full-blast or not at all -- no in-between. Volume bars 1 through 15 on my Mac sound EXACTLY the same, then bar 16 is extra loud. There is no adjustability between low and high volume. I use these speakers to increase the volume on my computer in order to be able to hear music throughout the house, but the volume control issue is a real downer.
