Terrific Book
Suggested by two doctors......had my choice......diabetes meds or lose weight. The book is easy to read and understand......the program is simple and makes total sense.....don't have to be exact when selecting your food.....really close is the goal but exact is not totally necessary.....easy to figure out a meal and keep track of what you need....plenty of food.....no guilt if you cheat a little bit....lost ten pounds my first month.....restless, sleepless nights went from 2 to 3 times a week to twice in the whole month....haven't been exercising but am starting my second month and plan to do a little. Haven't tried any recipes but like the way they are presented. Really the way to eat the rest of your life.

Superb Diet, Foundations a Bit Shakey
I'm giving this book a 4 star review. It recieves 4 stars by merit of the diet's effect on me personally. Your mileage may vary. I have been following this diet mostly to the T. I have dropped 15 pounds in the last month and I feel absolutely excellent. I'm not sure whether all of the theory that this diet is based on is completely sound. The focus on hormones and stuff seems a bit pseudo-science-ish to me, but much of it is also sound. For me I think the big thing was getting more protein and having my blood sugar levels more stable. As far as that goes this diet is excellent. I notice I have lots of energy and not in a manic psychological sense, which tells me that it's legit energy... there if you need it but you can chill if you don't. My muscles are also staying quite hard despite not having added weight training to my exercise regimen until this week... an effect strangely lacking in other diets I've tried that were so calorie restrictive.However keep in mind that everyone's individual chemistry is different. I've always intuitively felt that I needed more protein and fat for a successful diet, and I am the type of person who did not respond well at all to the typically dietary guidelines that the food pyramid recommends. Your milease may vary.

Very good!
Took longer than I expected to arrive, but I think it’s was because of the holidays. And I am still reading, but for sure I could suggest this book for anyone! It contains helpful information and you don’t need to be a professional to understand.

I previously used this book as a guideline for a period of time, and I not only lost weight - I felt better than I had in many months. It brought me out of the weakness and lethargy left over from a heart attack. I am determined to get myself and members of my family to delve into the possibilities offered by "The Zone"!

Read one, and you've read them all
I love the Zone Diet as it's relatively easy to master after initially practicing it, and it's based on good nutrition and common sense. Dr. Barry Sears is an excellent writer, making complex nutritional and physiological data very easy to understand. However, after reading 3 of his books, I find that they're all essentially the same info. His best book in my opinion: Toxic Fat as it explains the underlying metabolic issues that go on in the body when we eat/digest/process and/or store fat. His other books are just refreshers of the basic principles - with a few more recipes. After reading Toxic Fat, I'll pass on the dinner rolls, thank you.

Best Book written on Diet by the Nutritionist's Nutritionist
The bible for me which did better to prevent diabetes than any book..on diet for 10 years and still just borderline.Best book written on diet..for weight loss and nutrition at it's finest. Sears is brilliant and knows the biochemicalinteractions of foods and what exactly is needed for better health.
