Toysdone Cordies Desktop Cable Management for Power Cords and Charging Accessory Cables Black

Works as advertised!I recently built a desk with a nice finish, so I was looking for a desktop cable management solution that didn't involve any adhesives (which could potential leave residue or damage the finish upon removal). Quirky Cordies did the job. The base is weighted nicely with what feels like a solid metal interior and a matte textured rubber exterior that doesn't want to slide all over the place. Before purchase I was worried I may have issues with cords pulling the unit off the desk, but that hasn't been an issue at all. It's not going anywhere. Works great for my assortment of USB, AC adapter, firewire, ethernet, display and audio cables.However, be warned of unbranded knock-off versions being sold by some sellers (that are fulfilled by Amazon!). Here's how to tell the difference between the Quirky branded items and the knock off items (I will attach pictures as well): The knock of versions have a strong, nasty odor (made the whole room stink as soon as I opened the Amazon shipping box). The box and packaging is smaller and lower quality than the branded version (no instruction booklet either, not that it's needed). The item itself and box contains no Quirky logo or branding (the branded version has a quirky logo and name on the bottom of the item, as well as in multiple places on the box). The rubber does not look or feel quite as nice as the branded version. The vertical grips are less rigid (flex easier) than the branded version. The vertical grips on the branded version are either made with stronger rubber, or are reinforced with a metal interior (hard to tell). The diameter of the circular hole that goes through the center of all the vertical grips is slightly wider on the unbranded version.For reference, "Finders Keepers Shops" has sent me 3 legit, branded versions (2 separate orders). "Mile2014" has sent me 2 unbranded versions (which were returned).Based on the many recent reviews complaining of strong odor, I'm guessing many sellers are selling these unbranded versions. I'm disappointed with Amazon. These are Prime, "Fulfilled by Amazon" sellers. In my case, the seller that sent the unbranded version was even the default seller selected when clicking "add to cart" on the main product page. I expected better seller quality control on Amazon's part for Prime items that they fulfill.Note: in the pictures, the branded version is always on the right, unbranded on the left

First my thanks to reviewer Casey R for his photos, and reference to "Finders Keepers Shops" as the seller providing genuine authentic products on Amazon! Casey has photos with his June 24, 2015 review which makes it easy to distinguish between the genuine product, and so many of the Fakes also being sold by other sellers on Amazon.I ordered and received the authentic product from the same seller as Casey, and I love it! There is no offensive odor, none whatsoever. The product is weighted nicely, stays perfectly in place and my device cords are finally organized and easy for me to get too. In addition to what has already been mentioned by Casey, the authentic box has a large Q with the words quirky below it, located on the bottom right corner of the box front and back sides (which I believe the fake products Do Not have on their box). The originals also have a photo of the inventor Stephen Stewart Belfast, Northern Ireland shown on the back. It also has "Cordies keeps your computer cables from sliding off your desk when disconnected." on the back of the box shown in 5 languages.It took me awhile searching on Amazon to be able to bring up all sellers on the left hand menu, so that I could select only "Finders Keepers Shops" to order from. At the time I placed my order, they only carry black and white (I ordered one box of each). So, I have no idea if the other colors are fakes or if my seller just did not carry them. Oh, the bottom of each "cordies" also has the Large size Q with the word quirky imprinted below it on the bottom (underside) of the cordie too.I am so relieved that this product does not smell, I have some sensitivities and was not looking forward to getting migraines which some products precipitate. If you decide on this product, I hope you receive a genuine product as well. They are a perfect size, not to big and not to small. They grip the cords perfectly and stay in place well. The media could not be loaded. I started noticing my desk building up with cables and once my wife got frustrated that she couldn't find the right cable because, and I quote " You have so many cables over here I have no idea whats going on!! " I decided I better do something about it. I seen this Quirky Cordies and thought I would give it a try. My wife is pleased. So this product automatically gets 10,000 stars out of 5! Just teasing. The product actually is very handy and a neat way to organize your cables. Cheap too! I have provided a video review and I encourage you to watch it to see the product better. The base is weighted so it stays put pretty nice. It holds several style cables as well. On that note, with the new FLAT style cables that are becoming more and more popular over time, you will find those don't stay put as well. They tend to slide out if you have this hanging. No, it doesn't say to hang it..and the cables stay put if its laying flat. BUT I wanted to hang mine with some 3M tape..and they wouldn't stay put very well. Not knocking a star for that..thats just something I wanted to do. All in all I am giving the Quirky Cordies a 5 star review for its design & functionality.
