I've been waiting to write a review about Toppik until I've used a few bottles to see how the product holds up in different weather and conditions. I absolutely love it. I have Alopecia and (bad) thinning on my crown. I wore a partial hairpiece for years, which looked great and did the trick. But for any of you ladies out there in the same position, you know what a human hairpiece means. It's expensive, so for me, I could only have two, and they were identical pieces. They were dyed to match my hair, which meant I had to color my hair exactly the same color for years. And the style never changed, short bob forever. Not to mention the maintenance, head forms in the bathroom, and having to replace the hairpieces when they wear out. I decided to give Toppik a try because I wanted to see if I could use it and feel comfortable with my own hair. To explain my level of thinning, I would never go out of the house without a hat or hairpiece. Ever. Once I started using Toppik, the hairpieces and head forms went into the closet and they haven't come back out! I love love love this stuff. I started out using Toppik with the spray applicator, which worked well for a while. But then I noticed the spray applicator wasn't working as well as it once had. I would pump once and have to wait forever for the air to refill the pumper and it would take a long time to cover my thinning areas using this method. So I finally popped the sprayer off and used the shake method. Works like a charm. Because I am thin all over my crown, I use the sharp end of a comb, start at one side of my head, slightly above my ear, and create a part to the back of my head. Shake on the Toppik from back to front (careful near your face! it can be messy). Repeat the process about half an inch apart all the way across my head. Once I'm done, I use a cotton ball to clean my face and hairline of any Toppik that has gotten out of control (especially check the nose and under your eyes). Quick check with a handheld mirror for coverage, and then I usually use some type of defrizz or smoother on my hair. When I put that on, I do end up with Toppik on my hands from rubbing my hair, no biggie. After that I use regular hairspray which seems to work well to lock the Toppik in place. I believe there is a product you can buy to do this, but I've never used it. Since I've started using Toppik I've grown my hair out. I haven't had long hair in about 10 years because I had to conform to the hairpiece, but not anymore! I can wear my hair wavy or straight again, when before I always had to blow-dry it straight to match the hairpiece. I love my hair again, which isn't something I thought I would ever be able to say. And there is a weird side effect of the Toppik for me. Normally if I wash my hair in the morning, and don't use Toppik, by the next morning, my hair is starting to get a little greasy, not a problem if I'm wearing a hat, but even before my hair loss, I washed my hair every day. When I use the Toppik, my hair looks awesome the second day! It ends up super full from the roots down and not oily at all. I can sometimes go three days without washing it, which would have seemed crazy to me before using this product. The best I can surmise is that the Toppik absorbs the oil my scalp is secreting?? Anyway, I don't really care, because it means I can get two, sometimes three great hair days out of one styling and application of the Toppik. So the downside? It is really messy. No matter how careful I am, I still end up with Toppik all over the sink and counter, and I use dark brown, so it really shows. As messy as it is, I really don't care. It could be ten times messier and I would still use it. Because until you've gone through the difficulty of losing your hair, you will never understand how amazing it feels to get compliments on your own real hair again!! I have been out in the rain with no problem, and worked out. While working out, when my head gets sweaty and I wipe it with a towel, there is Toppik on the towel. I just make sure to be careful. Have not gone swimming in it, and probably won't try. I've also used Great Hair Day powder and really liked it, but for the amount of coverage I now need, Toppik is the product for me. If you are on the fence, order the smallest size and try it. You can always send it back if it doesn't work for you, and it could change the way you feel about your hair!

This honestly works great. I thought I could use it with the old one that I had cause it was like a like a spray that you could just squeeze and it all sprayed it all but the spray for some reason it doesn’t wanna work so I have to pour a little of the putter out on a little kind pad and tap it on my face, but it works great. I love it. Gives my beard definition.

This stuff really works! I was very skeptical at first but after using it now for a week I can say it works like magic! I have thinning in my crown and one on side of my frontal hair line and extending into a little bit of the middle, a couple of shakes of this stuff and bam the visible appearance of my thinning was none existing! My hair looked fuller than ever, and it definitely gave me the confidence boost that I’ve been lacking ever since my hair began to thin somewhat about 3 years ago. For the first time in a while I actually felt good about myself and didn’t hate looking in the mirror. This stuff lasts long too! I didn’t need to reapply it the next morning at all, not until I washed my hair maybe 2-3 days after using, unless you’re a daily hair washer which I am not, I don’t need to be I have 3B natural curly hair this product will last a while! Which is a good thing because it was kind of pricey, however how it has made me feel about myself and my appearance is well worth the money to me. And it’s much cheaper and zero pain compared to some of the more permanent options out there. My only issue with the product is you have to use it on dry hair, and as I said I have 3B curly hair I can’t really go a day without some type of light product especially in the morning after waking up. So I usually will do my hair and add product when I get dressed for the day then wait an hour or so after and apply this, however if you are tight on time that’s not really feasible, and trust me you do want to apply it to dry hair or risk your hands being covered in black speckles if you apply it to wet or damp hair. The product says style as usual after applying and not sure exactly how one does that unless they mean add hairspray or maybe a paste or puddy something on the dryer and thicker side but I don’t use those products as they would weigh down my hair instantly .

So, if you're bothering to read reviews about anything like this in your ongoing battle with baldness, then let me be clear, right up front - the hair loss is winning the war. To terribly misquote Jim Morrison, "No hair gets out of here alive".... So, you're hoping against all odds that some miracle product will be a cheap, effective, undetectable cure-all in your fight against genetics or disease...well, the good news is THIS PRODUCT KIND OF WORKS. Let me be as transparent as the fine little hairs you're hoping will grow on your head - if you have some hair, but it's thinning pretty bad, this stuff will make it look fuller and hide some of the dreaded scalp showing through - however, if you plan on people getting really close to it, you can see the toppik on your scalp (at least, the dark colors show up if you're Caucasian or light skinned) - but this should work well for a job interview, a date in a restaurant, an acting/theatre gig, maybe even a family gathering - but if you plan on getting lucky and he/she not noticing the smudges on the pillow in the morning, you are out of luck....If battling hair loss is what you're up against, then Toppik is, metaphorically, another tool in the tool box. Use it with along with everything else - but use it in moderation. Too much and you're a powdered, bald donut. Finally, don't blindly listen to the claims by some of these Amazon reviewers saying it's "amazing" and "no one noticed" - because, if anyone looked close enough, they probably could tell you've got cornstarch type colored powder layering your nearly hairless scalp. On the other hand, don't listen to all these complainers saying it doesn't work at all or that it's garbage - they're just angry, balding trolls with sweaty scalps who were just hoping to find a dirt cheap solution to a problem that has plagued men and women forever. If you have little or no hair, this product really won't work - but if you're in the middle of your hair-less fight, you'll have some pretty good luck with this. I hope this review helps - as I'm someone who's done Bosley, Propecia, Rogaine, Toppik, Tocotrienols and have had some luck with all of them. If, after my long winded review you're still unsure (and you should be) then buy the tiny cheap bottle of Toppik (it will set you back around $10 with shipping) - it's a small price to pay to see if a product works for you. Having thin hair this covers my scalp perfectly and makes my hair look so much fuller. Pick the color that matches your hair. I use dark brown. It does not cover grey too good when my roots grow out but it’s good enough.

This is messy. It works great if you have a bald spot on the top or back of your head. I tried it on my hairline above my forehead and while it filled in my hairline, I didn't like the look of it. It was filled in, but unnatural. I used an index card to keep the fallout off my forehead and it helped some, but still got everywhere.

I’m amazed at how well this works. The powder covers my pink scalp with no appearance of residue. Will not be without It.

Been using Toppik for a while now and it has become a regular part of my morning routine. I have some thinning around the temples and crown, and this product genuinely makes a noticeable difference. When applied correctly and paired with the fiber hold spray, my hair looks significantly fuller in just a couple of minutes. The dark brown shade I ordered matches my hair well with no obvious streaking or color mismatch. Application takes a little practice to get right. Too much and it looks unnatural, too little and you are not getting the full effect. But once you get the hang of how much to shake out and where to apply it, you can get results that genuinely fool people. I have had no comments about my hair looking different or artificial, which is the best possible outcome. The main downsides are that it does come off on pillowcases and if you get caught in the rain without setting spray, it will shed. Also, heavy sweating at the gym can cause it to migrate. These are limitations worth knowing going in. That said, for normal daily wear in an office or social setting, it holds up well and gives you a confidence boost that is hard to put a price on. Solid product that delivers on what it promises.

Excellent product. I’ve had some hair thinning due to chemotherapy and this product has enabled me to ‘fill in the gaps’ on my scalp so that no one would know how much hair I’ve lost. It magically appears to attach itself to my head no matter whether I’ve been out in inclement weather and has enabled me to go out in public with confidence. I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone and have indeed bought some for a friend.

Por 4 años he sufrido de alopecia, y al tener 29 años, me daba mucha pena el no poder peinarme (o no peinarme en lo absoluto) porque mis calvitas están en la parte superior. Pensé mucho en compra Toppink porque pensé que sería horrible, pero es perfecto. Tiene buena adherencia, no se ve falso y el color se pierde muy bien entre tu propio cabello. He visto muchos productos clones en Amazon, y soy sincera, no sé si este lo eso, pero funciona muy bien :) Si tienen el cabello oscuro, les recomiendo usar el color café oscuro, porque el negro es un negro pero de tinte y se ve falso en un cabello oscuro natural.

Been using this product for a couple of years now. Fantastic! Hides the obvious thinning hair. Colours naturally that shiny white scalp that magnifies thin hair loss. Like this size for travel, small & weightless enough to always keep in purse. * use this morning from a larger bottle. Keep this handy for touch ups during the day if needed but haven't had to use it so far. It stays on all day unless you brush it or rub it off which doesn't usually happen. Good to have in purse just in case. Came on time as promised & I highly recommend it in any size for those who need it!
