Manufacturer Dropped the Ball; Asurion Went Above & Beyond
I bought the official "Alexa" coffeemaker and an Asurion extended warranty in Sept 2022. The coffeemaker ceased functioning 2 weeks ago (4 months after purchase.) It's manufactured by Hamilton Beach who is supposed to provide warranty replacement/repair for the 1st year. Calling the number for Hamilton Beach plays a pre-recorded message telling you to use their website or email them (no contact email is provided anywhere.) The website does allow you to complete a warranty request form, but does not confirm receipt once submitted. After 10 days with no response, I contacted Asurion. Asurion also tried to reach Hamilton Beach multiple ways, and they, too, couldn't get assistance. So, Asurion made an exception and issued a credit to my Amazon account for the purchase price of the coffeemaker. This was 5 star customer service, since their extended warranty doesn't technically begin until the manufacturer's warranty expires. I won't ever purchase another Hamilton Beach product, but I'm sold on the value of Asurion.

Happy with the purchase.
My experience was great, I did a chat online with an agent and my issue was addressed. My claim was filed the agent was very clear on next steps. I received my shipping label and my gift card was in my email wihtin two days.

Update, issues resolved after talking to a person
Update: Got my claim processed after talking to a person. Just emailed an Amazon gift card once the item was checked in at the UPS store, so that was easy. Still frustrating it seems a very deterrent based system, but once I got to talk to an actual person I was able to get my claim processed no problem.Been trying to do claims for two products. Errors each time, unable to process. Nobody available in chat. Gives me a list of products to make claims, but then says they aren't the right products and the claim can't be finished. One claim I picked the item, and it lists Asurian the service plan as the manufacturer of the product instead of the item manufacturer and doesn't give an option to change that or continue the claim.Seems very much a scam if they don't let you make claims and the system is designed to deter you from being able to make a claim.Went back into the site, now both products that had been listed have disappeared completely and it says I have no active products or processed claims.

Worth the money!
Bought the protection package for our Ninja coffee maker, well with the little bit of extra money! Unfortunately the product stopped working, I was able to easily & quickly submit a claim, I received all the information I needed to return the product and only 2 days later I already have a new coffee maker on the way! I’m really pleased with the whole experience!

Asurion made it EASY!!!
Owned the air fryer 2 years when it stopped working. Called Asurion, she looked it up and emailed me the return label!! Hardest part was just finding a box to send it back in. Refund was credited to my Amazon in just under one week of mailing it to them. Great experience!!

Remembered I had a plan when I needed it, searched my email or amazon account for it, and the info was there. I got an immediate digital response on contact. Printed the label and packed and delivered the item to a UPS. Got immediate payment.

Very easy to replace the item at Amazon and the warranty refund is on a gift card. Great.
