Hope Trumps Calamity with the Gospel
I haven't read but a few of the Minor Prophets chapters, (Habakkuk and Nahum). I'm using this book as my guide in teaching the Minor Prophets to our home bible study group. Lot's of detail to help understand the history surrounding each prophet while capturing God's design for his people in each book. These books speak to our current times we are faced with daily and it seems as if we are living the days of the Prophets here and now. Therefore, we must pay close attention to these words of warning and hope. These books make it clear why we have hope in times of calamity.

excellent reference book
This book is an first-rate reference book for an in depth study of the minor prophets. It provides detailed analysis and information and an excellent parallel between the OT and our lives today.

Good studies of Minor Prophets with relevance to today's Christian life by a distinguished Presbyterian pastor.
Good review of Minor Prophets with applicability to today's Christian life. I expected more detailed discussions of the texts themselves. The chapters were more sermon than exegesis.

Excellent
Thoroughly evangelical. If you are unfamiliar with James Montgomery Boice then get these two volumes. You will not be disappointed. The commentary is not deep but sufficient for the average reader. Generally a passage is taken, Boice goes through it explaining what the prophet is getting at and then, at the end of the chapter, makes some practical application. He also looks at some of the problems that crictics raise and answers them.
