An Anthology of Sacred Texts By and About Women Paperback – March 1, 1994

This book has been a great reference tool that's allowed me to read excerpts from religious texts as well as folklore that I would have had a hard time finding on my own. It brought a lot of info together in one place. I also really liked that not only did each section have an introduction about the religion, but each excerpt had an explanation of what the story said so that when the language was obscure I had some help understanding it. I also liked that it didn't try to analyze the excerpts, it just gave them and left it up to the reader to decide what they ultimately meant.

Great book for price. Very authentic and has information from.so many cultures. Very in depth. A+ i have bought 3 copies of this book and have given them to friends i enjoyed it so much

I am taking a women and religion class and this is our main textbook.It has short and interesting excerpts from all major world religions and how women's roles vary within them.Good read.
