Once you experiment and get the blade depth adjusted for the specific cable you are working with, it works great. It has to be readjusted when you switch cables from one mfg or type to another. Each one has a little different jackets and some are harder than others to cut through. You have to adjust it where it doesn't cut all the way through the jacket, just score it and then when you bend it, it snaps at the score mark. This makes sure you don't cut your cables. So.. so... much easier than using small wire cutters to strip insulation.

At work, I'm running some CAT6A cable for HDBaseT video extension. I purchased the Platinum Tools 15015C without doing enough verification that it would work, and sure enough the cable is too thick. The 15018C works perfectly on the much thicker CAT6A cable, and I was able to dial it in perfect so it just scores the jacket without cutting through. I think that adjustability make's it a better value than the 15015C.

With the large project of running Cat 6 network cables across the attic, I decided to break from my old ways of using scissors to strip wires and purchase this specialized tool. I didn't think that a wire stripper should cost more than two dollars, however I reluctantly purchased it anyway.This device is fantastic. Perfectly scored the network cable with one twist and made cutting cable a breeze rather than fight with the scissors again. Well worth the cost.

Very sharp, adjustment feature for stripping casing is very useful but requires attention so you don't cut the inner jackets. Remember to only score the outer jacket, and then twist jacket to break the final remaining layer to ensure your not degrading cable signal integrity.

Perfect for stripping twisted pair cable. I ran about 700ft of outdoor-burial category 6, and the cable jackets (outer and under) were really thick and not very pliable at all. With the adjustable blade depth for scoring on this tool, it was effortless to strip and avoid any nicking of conductors. This will be a mainstay in my network bag for years to come. I own a few Platinum made tools and they have not disappointed me. American Made!

makes it so much easier to strip wires as long as you adjust the blade to the correct depth. I've noticed that different cat 6 cables require different depths, so you might have to play with it when using different cables.

Works great for 5e and 6. Cable stripping works great -- easy to set the blade depth, and it doesn't move easily so you don't have to worry about the depth wandering, even if you're dragging it through a crawlspace. Cable cutter is so good, I hardly need my Klein scissors. Clean cuts every time.
