Although this was one of the cheaper options available have been really impressed with this WiFi extender, it was very easy to set up, and there are plenty of configuration options whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who likes to tweak settings. You can rename the extender’s WiFi network and even give it a different password from your main router, which is handy for security when you’re extending the signal further out. One feature I really like is how it automatically switches between 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or both at the same time depending on traffic and signal quality. It does it in the background and you don’t have to think about it. The signal strength LEDs are useful too for spotting any issues, was slightly concerned about getting a range extender that didn't utilise 'powerline' but even without this feature I haven’t had any problems with connection signal whatsoever. I’m using this to boost the signal range from a TalkTalk router on a different floor and the opposite side of the building around 30 meters away - through one floor and four walls and it’s been completely stable and reliable.

The TP-Link AC1200 Mesh Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender offers a mixed bag of performance in my experience. On the positive side, it works reasonably well, extending the Wi-Fi range and providing a boost to signal strength in certain areas. The range extender comes with some nice features. The setup process was relatively straightforward, and the device integration with the existing network was seamless. However, I've noticed some inconsistencies in the connection reliability. My devices occasionally lose signal, and there are times when they struggle to automatically connect to the extender. This intermittent loss of connection can be frustrating at times.

Setting it up was quick; I just used the WPS button, and it connected without any trouble. The signal is much better now; I get a strong, stable connection even when I’m out in the garden browsing or working on stuff in the garage. Speeds are good too, not as fast as fibre, but definitely enough for browsing, video calls, streaming and such. The device itself is compact and doesn’t get hot or noisy. For the price, I’m very happy with it.

I bought this worrying it might not be strong enough signal but was happy to be proved wrong! No need for fancier more expensive models, this does a perfect job repeating the signal to get a good signal through thick walls. Easy to to set up and use, small and discreet.

The TP-Link RE300 is a decent WiFi extender that does improve coverage in weaker areas of the house, but my experience has been mixed overall. Setup was fairly straightforward, and when it is working properly, the extra range is noticeable for everyday browsing and streaming. However, I’ve had recurring connectivity issues, including occasional dropouts, slower speeds at times, and trouble reconnecting smoothly after brief interruptions. Because it helps in some situations but isn’t consistently reliable, I’d give it 3 stars rather than a higher rating.

Bought this as although I have a good WiFi signal within the house but during this hot weather wanted to extend it just onto the patio and garden. Firstly this doesn't have a WPS button so had to download the app and use that which is a faff to set up. Got it to connect to the network and app was showing it as a good connection. However there was absolutely no extention of the WiFi signal, no difference even when standing on the back doorstep within about 10 feet of the unit. Tried resetting the bandwidths but no change. Unistalled, reset tried all sorts. Very disappointed and after an hour faffing about returned it for a refund

I needed to extend the wifi to my ring doorbell as live in an upstairs flat. Easy set up and did the trick no more off line

Very good WiFi extender booster, with easy instructions to set up, highly recommended.

Looses connection all the time. Forgot password after firmware update. I had to reset and set up everything from the beginning. Very frustrating. Went to the Starlink mesh. That works perfectly with plug & play without anything to set up. Very disappointing as I was a big fan of TP link years ago.

Simple and effective. Easy to setup. Just works. The only issue is that even though the mkt material says that range is good for a very large house we dont feel it is. It has issues.
