I have just bought Susan's latest book and it's fantastic! So easy to look up any story as needed, given it's in alphabetical order, and it's great that she's labelled them as suitable for certain age groups. I LOVE this book - so useful when dealing with children! No need to remonstrate with them, just tell them one of these didactic stories.

Will be useful when surprised with a new situation

The stories in this book are ridiculous! I haven’t read all of them, so there may be a few hidden gems. Of the ones we’ve read, some of the language is too violent (in Cranky Cockatoo, recommended for 4+, an animal suggests chopping off the birds beak so it can’t bite them anymore??!?) and the story just doesn’t make sense (Cranky Cockatoo is cranky - but why? They make a beak cover for it to keep him from biting until he learns how not to bite, but again WHY is he biting and how do we teach him impulse control or at least teach him WHY he shouldn’t bite??) There are plenty of WAY better character lessons in story form out there - SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Beautiful stories! Really helpful for preschoolers and up.

Every tale has something at least 1 of them struggles with or situations they recognize. Non-confronting way of seeing how things that don't go smoothly can be handled, yet beautifully disguised in a story. Love it.

I have used this book many times. The stories are helpful but unfortunately the book was not what I thought it would be. My mistake no doubt. For my autistic grandson to enjoy, keep his attention, colourful pictures would have made the book more user friendly. Sitting listening to someone reading is impossible without distraction when suffering from some disabilities.

This is a beautiful book of stories for all age children with morals of positive behavior and positive change. Beautifully written by Susan Perrow and illustrated by Allmut ffrench.
