They're still precisely machined, as free of milling marks as a premium brand like Markins or RRS.,with just as good a finish. The captive screws are strong, the plate sizes are precise (the ones without a suffix fit any clamp set up for ARCA standard, the ones with an R work with RRS clamps). I got this "R" version so I could use them on a photogrametry rig that has an RRS standard clamp instead of an ARCA.I've always used Markins (RIP. You guys were the best) plates when I need general purpose plates, as well as the fitted plates for a Nikon D3, N90, D200, D2X, and D100). I wanted to make some plates with index pins for the Nikon PB-4 bellows and some other precision gear. Markins square generic plates were $49. One day, I saw these Sunway plates at $15 (that was years ago) and thought I'd give one a try.I was impressed by the quality machining and the silky "touch me" finish, and in love with the packaging. (Sunway plates used to come in "presentation boxes" like a fine watch).Well, the jewelry box is gone, and this 2019 Sunway comes in a blister pack that can hang on the pegboard of a camera store, but that's OK. The old packaging was gorgeous, but very wasteful.

If you have a Fujifilm camera, you know that it can be hard to find no-twist quick release plates to fit. Most are too long and interfere with the battery door, or the anti-twist ridges are too high and interfere with the rear screen. The DPG-39R is a welcome exception!This plate fits the X-Pro2 and X-T4 perfectly, giving plenty of clearance for battery changes and still having solid anti-twist protection when using the camera vertically. They don't say it's designed specifically for Fujifilm cameras, but you wouldn't know that from the fit.Even if you don't own a Fujifilm camera, this is a superbly made Arca-style plate. I've never been let down by a Sunwayfoto product, and this is no exception.

I didn't like that it has that strap ear sticking out though. I understand it's for adding a wrist strap possibly but I made the mistake of not paying attention to that.

Works. Works. Works. Attached to my Nikon D800 and Lumix G85. No problem. Compact and easy to use. Yes, it's well built.

This plate even sports two 1/4-20 holes on the bottom and I love the lower profile and weight. Finish is also of high quality.

This quick release plate fits on the Nikon DF-GR1 accessory grip, at just the limit of screw hole slot. Since the DF-GR1 has an odd tripod screw hole location, not many quick release plates fit well with it— many overhang the edge of the accessory grip, which is effectively the camera body. This means, for those quick release plates, they look odd or doesn’t ergonomically flow well with the rest of the Df camera.Unfortunately though, the quick release plate must be oriented in “reverse” direction for it to fit on the DF-GR1. This means, the strap loop is facing towards the left side of the camera, rather than the right, as intended. Because there’s not really any other quick release plate that I could find that will fit within the footprint of the DF-GR1, at any price, this is the best quick release plate for it possible!Also, the plate is still small enough that the safety stop screws are useless as many Arca Swiss clamps are too large to be able to take advantage of the safety stop screws. Most smaller clamps are only 8mm (5/16”) smaller than this quick release plate usually.

The unit is an excellent lower price copy of the Really RIght Stuff B6 Bidirectional Plate with the addition of a loop for a strap/grip. It has a similar stop for mounting, not depending entirely upon friction. The screws are not of the same quality, but these readily are available. I am not giving it 5 stars until it has been in service for a longer interval; if the metal is not of the same quality as the RRS plates, then it may wear or fracture. However, it appears to be made of the appropriate Al alloy.
