Fimo Professional Doll Art, Sand, 85 g

I really like Fimo overall, but the doll making line is my favourite for sure! This clay is hard so you need to be aware that it's not that easy in sculpting. I had to get used to that and now I'm getting the best results with it. The way how it's behave after baking is amazing. It feels soft, it's translucent to the level it should be but very easy to sand, to cut, to make holes in it, and it's flexible: you can make dolls on wire.

I love it. I’ve used it to make little ornaments. I usually use air dry clay so it’s nice to use something that can be baked and ready to paint in less than an hour.

Ich habe es für ein elektronisches Bastelprojekt (Selbstbau eines Wahrsageautomaten) verwendet, bei dem ich aus der doll art Fimo einen Kopf sowie Arme und Beine für meinen kleinen Wahrsager gebaut und anschließend weiter verarbeitet (Aufbohren, mit Augen versehen, Mechanik einbauen) habe. Zunächst lässt sich das Material direkt hervorragend ankneten und anschließend toll weiterverarbeiten. Das Formen geht, ein wenig bastlerisches Geschick vorausgesetzt, sehr gut von der Hand. Es lässt sich gut eine feine, glatte Oberfläche modellieren. Die Masse wird auch nicht zu schnell hart, so dass man sich beim Verarbeiten beilen müsste. Die Farbe war für mein Projekt perfekt; soweit ich gesehen habe, gibt es sogar unterschiedliche Varianten, so dass hier sicherlich jeder fündig werden kann. Nach dem "Ausbacken" sind die modellierten Teile formstabil und lassen sich sehr gut weiterverarbeiten. Ich habe mit einem Dremel Löcher gebohrt und hatte keine Probleme mit Ausrissen oder Brüchen im Material. Wenn man vorsichtig und behutsam mit dem Material umgeht, ist es sehr gut zu verarbeiten. Der Preis ist gehoben, aber die Ergebnisse sprechen auch für sich. Ich vergebe 4 1/2 Sterne (0,5 Abzug wegen der Preises).

I'm still testing different clays, but I'm really liking the flexibility of this once it's baked. I shipped a piece made with sculpy to Germany just to have it arrive broken in three places! I insanely bubble wrapped it too. I find myself not worrying too much with this though.
