Orbit Traveling Sprinkler Motor Assembly w/Wheels for The Traveling Sprinkler Tractor

I took a chance and ordered this green Orbit motor assembly for my yellow Nelson sprinkler. I did that because for a few extra $$ you get brand new wheels. It fit perfect and works perfect. That being said, the price between this repair and a brand new Orbit tractor isn't much. Considering repairing a 2nd sprinker....but I might just buy new and use the old one as a yard decoration.

Easy repair for a tractor sprinkler that won't move. The worm gear wears out on the rotating sprinkler head and this is the only fix. It will fit other brands than Orbit but not all. This mounts with 5 bolts, 2 at each axle stub and one in front. New wheels are already mounted and ready to go.

First of all this is way overpriced!! Second of all they won’t last longer than 2-3 months max. I water an acre 2-3 times weekly and they crap out pretty quick!!

Easy fix for expensive traveling sprinkler. Plastic gears are gonna keep wearing out, but it beats the cost of a new one.

Cheaper than replacement of the whole sprinkler. Old drive assembly easy to remove. This new part went on equally easy. If sprinkler is going backwards then the arms need to point the other direction. Quite satisfied but hope to not buy again.

I have 4 of these. Each time one broke I bought either a new one or a gear box. The gears are so cheap these days they break within a month. They make it very difficult to pull them apart (sort of hidden lock-See photos) Once you get the gear box off and apart you can use gears from other tractors to fix what ever broken gears you have...IF YOU ARE LUCKY enough to have a different gear break. Neither company (Orbit or Nelson) make the replacement gears. I have yet to find someone that can 3D print them but apparently it can be done. These are AMAZING and valuable if they are made well. They are no longer made well, nor do allow you to fix them. They force you to buy a $42.99 replacement gear box instead of $12.00 for new gear kit. DO NOT BUY unless you know you can get new gears!! I am so disappointed with BOTH of these companies!!

Our “Jonny” broke down and his little wheels just couldn’t pull the house no more. Picked up this unit and BOOM the back street boys started singing and an away Jonny went again! He’s out there right now moving his way through our pasture letting a perfect amount of water on the ground so the grass can stay green. Hey Jonny!!! How’s you doing old boy!!! Looking good out there pulling your hose.
