Great tool
First off, this Dremel is truly amazing. It can do almost anything you can think off with ease. I have cut through 1/8th inch hardened steel sheet no problem, and it will take off bolts just as easily. I primarily use this to cut metal, but it can also cut thick plastic, you just have to watch to make sure it doesn't melt too much of the plastic and clog the cutting wheel or chuck. If you plan on using this to cut bolts or metal often, you will need to buy more cutting wheels as they wear down pretty quickly, and the reinforced cutting wheels like the 2 that come included seem to work the best for me. As far as the other attachments go, I have used almost all them and I love the cut-off wheels and the sanding drums. The grinding wheel also works great but the aluminum oxide stones definitely fell short of my expectations, they wear down super quickly and don't even remove as much material as the sanding drums, but the cone shaped one is very useful for cleaning up welds. The felt polishing wheels will work great for getting a nice mirror finish on metal, but they also wear down pretty quickly when used with a compound. I really don't find the wire wheels that useful because they are just too small to be practical, and the larger ones that go on a drill or grinder are much more effective. People say in the reviews that the attachments don't fit in the included chuck, but they are just clueless and don't know what they are doing, or haven't read the manual that clearly states how to use every attachment. I would recommend getting the keyless chuck, it is great for quickly swapping between different attachments but be careful to get the real one from dremel not a cheap knockoff as they wont work as well and will break easily. The Dremel 3000 works even better than 30+ year old sears rotary tool that I used to use, and I would recommend this to anyone that does any kind of hobby/ craft work, or works on cars and engines where bolts might need to be cut.

Comes in a nice case finally...
Dremel finally provided buyers with a nice case instead of just a box like the last one I bought. It comes with a basic assortment of tools to use so you might want to buy an additional tool set. I still have plenty of those and usually you can buy suited to your needs or just buy individual tools at local hardware stores. I also bought the extension that allows much more options in terms of using the main Dremel tool itself since it accepts all the tools and gives you more ease of use depending on what you use it for since you don't have to support the main unit and it's easier imo for polishing, sanding, cutting, grinding etc. You hold it like you would a pen or marker. I also like that they finally have a clear shield guard included which oddly enough I was wondering why they didn't provide one before I got this set. You always must protect your eyes when using this since it's very powerful so it's nice they finally included one. The case has a seperate box with a few tools so you can keep the ones you usually use in it and if you buy more tools they come in their own boxes if you're buying them as a set. I use this all the time and it makes a nice gift for anyone who does a lot of diy projects, hobbies etc. Also, buy the extension, it gives you much more precision and ease of use depending on your projects. You'll find many uses as you go over time.

Great dremel
Use for my glass fused works. Use for engraving, removing glass rims from fused glass bowls, drilling holes ( use diamond bits)

dremel Quaility
came fast and dremel is always the best bet . the others just usually break and dont hold up like a dremel. I had my last dremel for close to 20yrs used for light duty wood carving mostly. my fault it broke, i didnt know there was some maintenance to do when owning a dremel. I m quite sure I ruined it cuz i never checked the brushes and cleaned it up regulary. I was hard on it in the end. could only hope this one holds up half as long

Works for my purposes
I bought this Dremel 3,000 to do one thing. Polish frets on guitars. I was using my hand drill and 1" felt polishing wheels before. The Dremel does it well. I had to get used to the speed of it. A hand drill has way more power to use. The Dremel bogged down at full speed when I pressed hard. I am thinking that I should have gotten the 4,000 or 4,500 for a bit more power. Plus, the shaft locking mechanism on the 4,xxx Dremels are almost bullet proof. The 3,000 has a very weak locking system that is prone to breakage. But it is a good tool for polishing and hobbies.

Great tool, cuts well, powerful and versatile
I like that the tool allows you to control the speed of rotation, and that it's wired. I found that in general, wired tools are generally more powerful than battery-powered tools. I used this tool and the included cutting disks and sanding bits to cut aluminum in my computer case. Before operation, I made sure to re-familiarize myself with the safety and instructions in the provided manual, as these kinds of tools can be dangerous when misused.I highly recommend that first-time users educate themselves on how to properly change and fasten dremel bits and use proper safety equipment (safety glasses, mask, etc.) and proper procedure. With tools that involve high-speed rotation, accidents are fairly common and can cause a lot of damage. That being said, I liked that the tool came with a guard/shield to protect from flying debris. Also, it's important to allow the cutting tools to do the work and do not try to press down or flex the machine while cutting. You risk damaging the cutting disks and thus causing damage to your piece, or worse, yourself. With proper precaution and maintenance, I see this tool lasting a very long time.
