The Lounsberry Rupert bass overdrive preamp is like a Nigel for the bass, providing a rich-sounding, tube-like bass sound. It makes a bass amp sound creamier, and is a very good preamp for direct recording. Output 2 provides an "always-on" FET preamp for recording, and Output 1 is the Rupert effect with true bypass. Operation Nothing could be simpler. Advance the “Drive” control to add fatness, grit and growl (depending on level). Use the “Level” control to balance the level against the bypassed signal. True bypass is available via the stomp switch. Use a 1/4” T/S cables at the input only. Unplug the input cable when not in use to preserve battery life. The use of a 1/4” TRS cable at the output allows for an “Always-on” FET preamp signal to be available via the “Ring”. A TRS to dual mono 1/4” breakout cable must be used for this output to be available. Both outputs are in phase. The True Bypass switch toggles between bypass, and overdrive, while the preamp output remains constantly “on” regardless of the switch. The Rupert operates on a standard 9v battery, or external pedal supply.
