Yes it does produce ozone. UV light transform the molecules and the end result is ozone. Now it does produce ozone below the requirement by the EPA and that is why they can say is ozone free. I've enjoyed this plug in for 11 months now and noticed yesterday that the blue ring is now white. What does that mean?

BRUSH OUT WITH A SOFT TOOTHBRUSH OR OTHER SMALL BRUSH WHERE YOU SEE THE WHITE. THE WHITE IS FINE DUST SO A BRUSH OR CAN OF AIR WILL WORK. TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO FIGURE OUT IT WAS WHITE DUST. DOT

How do you clean these air purifiers?

It's pretty simple. All I do is every so often I unscrew the top part that gives you access to the bulb (which also needs changed every 6 months I believe) and use a can of spray air or my air compressor to blow the insides out and the fan. It does get a lot of dust build-up over time.

I have a childcare and I can hear it buzzing from 2 rooms away with 10 toddlers in the house. I unplug it in the evening because I fine the noise annoying when the house is quiet. When there is noise and activity in the house, it’s a loud white noise
