WoodOwl00705 Overdrive Wood Boring Bit for Cordless Drills, 1-1/4-Inch Diameter

Bought this to drill holes in a workbench I'm building, and it works incredibly! I'm using an older 18v Makita cordless drill, and it bored through hard maple with no problem. This is a super boring product!

I hollowed out a Oak tree stump with it. It worked great, just don't go more than two inches deep at a time.

The first few times I used this bit it worked flawlessly, chewing right through the wood with ease. Sharpest bit I'd ever used. But, it must've caught just the wrong angle and jammed up in the wood. Reversed the drill out slowly and maybe my drill is just a beast, but it bent the shaft of the bit! So if you use this bit, make sure you're really dead straight and keep it that way because this is the first boring bit where the shaft has bent for me.

I built a large woodworking bench out of birch. I had to drill 3/4" dog holes through 3.5, 4, and 6 inch thick material. These bits are incredible. They cut very cleanly right out of the box, but are aggressive cutters so you have to stay in control. They tend to clog after about 1 inch or so of cutting, but it's quick and easy to shed the chips from the flutes. I didn't find they were self cleaning like brad point drills. All in all, excellent bits that are even more so because of the price.

Purchsed this to put holes into a stump to turn it into a planter. It bent after three holes about 4 inches deep. A complete waste of money.

Great for big holes. Clean cuts and fast
