Try this if it doesn't appear to work
I was convinced this wasn't working at all but the problem was that in order to hear the sound from your recording you need to disconnect the microphone from your phone. It's that simple thank goodness!Now I know that it's great! Took a while to puzzle it out though.

Excellent value for money
I have bought two microphones for online teaching due to Covid. I was going to give this one back, but I decided I am actually keeping both. The other one is a condenser microphone that is fixed on my desk with a boom. I am also very happy with it. However, since I am working from home and sometimes I have people around, this one offers the flexibility for me to move around the house and switch rooms when there are people and background noise around, which the condenser mic is not capable to cope so well with. The noise active cancellation in this product works very well indeed, especially for the price tag. The quality of the sound is a lot better than the in-built microphone from my laptop, giving my teaching videos and Zoom/Teams/Cybex/Skype meetings a much more professional outlook. (NB: I have tested other 2 lapel mics at the same price range, this one is by far the best)

Nice little Microphone
really easy to use, literally plug in and use.Sound quality good for general talking, value for money if you want a basic microphone.I use this when i am recording for my youtube channel.

More robust than you’d think!!!!
Outstanding!! - I’m a YouTube vlogger and get in and out of trucks all day. Having forgotten that it wasn’t secured to me properly yet, I jumped out of my cab to ask a local for directions. Walking back to the cab I noticed it in the middle of the toad and having 3 cars run over it. My betting was that it’d never work again. (I’ve only had it 3 days at this point, so was gutted). I tested it and the actual microphone and cable were absolutely fine. The only damage was to the clip itself, which became ever so slightly bent and the wind guard was mucky. FORTUNATELY this gets shipped with a spare clip and wind guard which are super easy to replace!! .. I’m really happy with how solid this is!As for the sound quality, I’ve read others say you can’t tell the difference between the iPhone mic and this one. You actually really can! - I would suggest using the Rode Reporter app.All in all, I am so glad I bought this and I will be buying more (one as a spare and one to have as a fixture in my cab for when I’m recording driving scenes on the GoPro).I’ve attached pictures so you can see how bent that clip got, I think it’ll actually straighten out too.If you’re thinking of buying one, I’d strongly recommend getting this! It’s robust and sounds great!!

Simple product, well priced.
I used this lapel mic for self-produced videos using my smartphone. It was ready to use straight out of the box. Easy to plug into and detach from the recording device, easy to attach to clothing. Mic was quite sensitive, performed well both outdoors and indoors. The audio quality was absolutely acceptable, compared to the internal mic within the phone itself. Build quality felt reasonably robust. Overall this product seemed good value for the money.

Marginal improvement on XR sound
It is good that they have finally produced a small mic with the Apple XR connection rather than having to use a lightning connector. The mic does work but I wouldn't say it increases the volume to more than the phone itself. The sound is more mellow. I tried with the wind cover on and off which didn't seem to make much difference. I am using it for self-tape video auditions so am inside and not that far from the phone. Possibly if you were using it further away with the longer cable it would make a difference.

Simple good product
I've found the product to be very useful for making iPhone videos. The mic is very sensitive so clip it down near your belly not up high near collar.

Cheap but poweful!
These little bad boys surprised me! Bought them for a wedding I filmed, paired with an iPhone and the sound was awesome! You will get feedback depending on how close the other mics/in house systems are but nothing you can’t correct (at the time) if you soundcheck.
