Keen believes in living a HybridLife, which means being part of a greater community that is full of people who create possibilities, play in the outdoors and care for the world around them. Review: Very Comfortable but a bit small - These shoes are quite comfortable. I will be returning them, though, because they are about a 1/2 too small, which was a surprise to me as a I tried on some Keen Whispers in a local store, and my usual size 7 fit great. When I tried these on, though, my heel was right on the edge of the shoe, which was uncomfortable. I think going a 1/2 size up would fix the problem, but I also find them not quite feminine enough. The coral color is very pretty in person, and the level of comfort is almost worth the not-so-attractive shoe style, but I find Chacos equally as comfortable and a bit more attractive, so I'll be going with them instead. Review: Fits as expected - I purchased a 1/2 size larger than my typical size, which is 7.5. I ALWAYS wear 7 1/2, no matter what. Now I have a shoe that is sloppy. If your foot is typically the correct size, and you never purchase a 1/2 size larger or smaller, get your size. These shoes do NOT run small. Sloppy is ok, there is room for a sock, but if I get another pair, i'll get 7 1/2 and not 8. The shoes are great, otherwise. At first, the back strap was a little abrasive, so I wore a bandaid. It has a nice, easy to use adjustment for tightening the shoe. The soles are very flexible and although there is an arch, it is not very extreme. These are for people who want a minimalistic shoe without a ton of support, but with flexibility. The sole will protect your feet from rocks, etc. UPDATE: 7/22/17 - my shoes lasted for 3 years with daily wear. They are pretty much the ONLY shoes I wear, except my Merrills, which I wear horseback riding. I just ordered my next pair of Clearwaters because the strap attachment point on my first pair is giving out. 3 years, not bad for the money.

Good shoes, but not for me
Got these yesterday and had to send them back. My baby toes kept sliding out of one of the openings, so I know that would have soon lead to discomfort. I found them to be a little bit large length-wise, and certainly could not have worn half a size larger as some reviewers have recommended. I have wide feet, and they were okay in that respect. These cannot be adjusted in the heel, so I found that my foot kept sliding back which probably accounted for the reason that my little toes were poking out. I found a pair of Keen Whisper sandals that fit oh so much better and have a bit more support than the Clearwater CNX.

Light and comfortable in the Keen style
Light and comfortable in the Keen style, but the 9.5 is far too long for my size 10 foot. It is not overly wide though -- agree with previous commenters that the last is disproportionately narrow. The gripper on the elastic cord is inadequate, it doesn't hold the cord snugly at all, to the point that there's no point using it. Why not make these in a flat black so you can wear them in non-adventure-sports contexts? Bright colors on everything = no.

but as recommended, I found that a 7
I have found that Keens don't let me down- my Keen Newport sandals went on a 286 mile raft trip down the Grand Canyon, where they handled getting soaked, and also worked well for hikes. However they are heavy, and for our adventure cruise in Hawaii, I decided to try the Keen Clearwater CNX sandal instead. I normally wear a 7, but as recommended, I found that a 7.5 was a better fit, with the arch support falling at the right point. These shoes are narrower than the Newports, and are much, much lighter, while still having good tread for gripping on slippery rocks, or trails, and toe protection. I did find that some breaking in improved the fit. II used them for water adventures, and as my hiking shoes as well. As with any hiking sandals, occasionally you have to dislodge a rock, but for the tread and protection with such a lightweight shoe they are hard to beat. They will definitely be going on my next adventure trip. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that the bungee cord is a bit too long for my foot. I have to tuck it under the elastic lacing after I cinch the shoes up. Otherwise I really like these shoes. I got the back with yellow accents. I may get another pair in a pretty color.

Finishing Up 4 Weeks of Constant Wear!
Couln't be more pleased. Have worn on a month long trip to Thailand. Lots of walking plus wearing while kayaking and swimming in a stream. Holding up very, very well. Also brought along Newport just in case but haven't needed. These provide wonderful support which I need!!

keen norse blue inaccurate color
Just received this sandal in the norse blue color. They are true to size and seem comfortable however the color I got is not as pictured and I don't think it's my monitor. I thought it would be a light powdery blue but it is bright medium dk turquoise. Last month I bought a pair of Teve Tirra sandals in Algiers Blue. It is a mediium turquoise color. So if you want to see the true color of the Norse blue Keen, take a look at the Teva. In addition to the Tirra sandal I also have 2 pair of Teva mush flip flops in this color. Too much turquoise! Unfortunately I'll need to send these back and exchange them for another color. Hope the others colors are more accurate.
