This is a great book & my boys are 11 & 12 (later Tweens).I recently began to realize their needs are changing & knew I needed to start making changes to help. I'm feeling better prepared & less scared of this new phase.This book is a little out-dated here-and-there, but mostly great! Even if you felt comfortable in some areas, it's great to see it in writing! And, yes, I skipped a few chapters & sections that didn't apply to me.Written in 2003, so it is 10 years old. An example is mentioning "Palm Pilot" at least twice. Now, we're looking at iPods, iPads, etc... And the Walkman by MP3 players... "Sega unit," really? Think Wii, Xbox, etc...I am reading a library book now, but after marking pages to note, I bought my own copy!Definitely worth it for all tween & teen parents!I'm feeling better prepared to handle this new step of childhood! Thank you!

So far a very good easy read. Love all the pointers and is already helping with my two tween daughters! Planning on finishing this week. Love having on my iPad vs the physical book. On iPad can read on the go the physical book is a little more bulky and not possible.

This is a very informative book for parents and their first preteen. My daughter went from little girl to preteen overnight. I was looking for a book to explain the little stranger I am now living with. This has helped understand what she's going through. I would recommend this to parents.

This is a great practical guide for parents of tweens. It helps you identify what's going on during this time of intense change and growth.

I have 2 daughters, 8 and 10. My 10 yr. old is already acting 15. I have found that any of "They Everything" books are very informative. I also have "The Everything Money Book for Kids". I looked into several different books before purchasing this and have been satisfied with this purchase.

I did see a couple reviews that mentioned that this book was outdated but outdated doesn't even do it justice.I sat and read through it and felt like I traveled back to the 1950's.Do not waste your money.It included nothing insightful or even educational.I'm actually quite frustrated with myself for wasting my money.

I am part way through the book and can't put it down... its AMAZING. So informative, there are so many pregnancy and baby books and then nothing, you are on your own with a stroppy tween, until I found this gem. Covers literally everything, very well thought out.

A little American for a UK market but some interesting observations. I would recommend reading it for parents of 8 years old and upwards,
