Pentair 59023700 Manifold Top with Air Bleed Replacement FNS PLUS Pool and Spa D.E. Filter

I used this for replacement in my Pentair 48 DE filter. Perfect replacement. OEM quality product, and good value with this vendor.

I should have bought this a year previous to when I did. I had a cloudy pool, couldn't get it clear. Almost a whole summer with water problems with me shocking, cleaning filters, changing DE - drove me crazy! Before the next summer, I took apart everything from pump to filter, pvc valves, everything!! to find out what was causing my water to be cloudy. Almost by accident, when I flipped over my old manifold, I noticed a small split running along a plastic seam on the underside. I ordered this new manifold based upon size of my filter. Delivered within 10 days. I cleaned off the old filters, frisbee'd the old manifold across the lawn, and installed the new manifold. My water is super clear now. New manifold has been working for 3 months now with no problems. The build quality seems to be ok. It's plastic, don't know if it will last 10 years, but it's been working great this summer.

Needed a replacement for Pentair FNS Plus D.E. Filter Model FNSP 48. Received it quickly and we easy to replace. One week in and all is working great. The old one was cracked and I started getting DE back in the pool, so hopefully this will take care of that.

Pictured Item is not what was shipped. Same manifold except in black (no problem, since it is inside the filter). The air bleed is very different. It works, but it is not the same as pictured. It is a metal screen instead of the filter material over plastic. I am fearful that the metal screen, will rust overtime.

This is one of those pieces that stands between you and being able to use your pool. We tried a cheaper bargain brand and after all the effort and money to replace it, the cheaper one broke within two days. The frustration of removing the filter and cleaning off the fins and repeating the process is extremely frustrating. So we purchased the pentair (original to our filter). Although they look very similar, you can see the difference (the cheaper one basically collapsed on itself). This one has done a great job. Our pool was very very green and couldn't see the bottom (in a four foot shallow end). Within two days of installing the pool was basically blue. Within about 4 days we could swim. Don't waste you money or your time on the counterfeits.

The only reason I gave 3 stars for the manifold is because it is cheap plastic that costs nearly $80. Beyond that this was identical to the manifold which was inside the filter. It had cracked over time and I am sure this will do the same. However it went on easily and has worked well with filtration. So far so good. I will update in the future to advise how much life we got out of this.

I thought the filters were probably torn and leaking somewhere all last summer and had to deal with DE from the filter ending up in the pool all the time. Recently I took ALL of the filter apart and saw that the old manifold was severely cracked on the underside where I didn’t see it last summer. Changed out manifold (easy to do). It took about 20 minutes to change and put all back together and since then (a few weeks now), absolutely no leaking of DE! Pool is clear and sparkling. Bring on the summer swim season! Only complaint is the very high retail cost of what is about $5 worth of plastic. But it was quite a bit cheaper still than at Leslie’s Pool Supply. Got to look on the bright side.
