I’ve never been a fan of boxed mashed potatoes but THESE are GOOD! They are so realistically homemade tasting. The buttermilk lends a richness to the taste—delicious and buttery. I sometimes make them with milk or cream, but it’s not necessary as they are great tasting made just with the water the directions give. A home run here. I’ve used these for several years now. They are so good that I even served them on a Thanksgiving holiday—no one knew the difference. So easy to make: no peeling, no fuss, no muss, and no time.

Nice to have on hand for a side dish when time is short. Easy to fix and serve in a hurry.

These are decent, fast and easy to make mashed potatoes. I recommend being slightly stingy in how much water you use and then add more if you need to. Work well and last well. I've never had powdered mashed potatoes go bad if found in the back of your cabinet. Good food to have stashed away for emergencies.

Listen, a pack of twelve packages of instant mashed potatoes is a godsend when you're busy and trying to get food on the table. For little cost, you can add a quick starch to any meal. I've been trying out a lot of different recipes lately, and I've found that having something quick and easy like instant potatoes lets me spend more time working on the entree and getting it just right. I don't have to worry because Idahoan is nothing if not consistent. Is it as good as freshly mashed potatoes? Of course not, and it doesn't try to be. It's there for busy families, and that's what gives its value. It's cheap, it's quick, and it helps you put a balanced dinner together without having to spend time peeling, boiling, mashing, etc. Throw some water in the kettle, pour that over the potato flakes, and that's it. Boom. Side dish completed. I will say this, though. I recently tried a quick and easy shepherd's pie using mixed veggies and ground beef cooked in sloppy joe mix, and the instant mashed potatoes on top, mixed with some shredded cheese, were perfect. I doubled the mixture and made two pans, and my family demolished it.

Love to have these on hand when the real ones from the garden arent available. long shelf life and great texture. Easy to make.

These are great instant potatoes good flavor and texture, just add 2 cups of water. I didn't realize that instant potatoes had evolved into a class act. I will always have this item in my pantry, awesome taste. I love these potatoes.

I always disliked dehydrated mashed potatoes. BUT this brand has excellent taste and natural texture.

Buttery flavour smooth texture with correct amount of water added is important or else becomes too wet like soup. Great product no other brands I know of can satisfy my taste like this. Highly recommended for those who fo not have time to boil and mash fresh potatoes.
