Q: Can it be fixed to a motorcycle rail rack ?

Yes the staps should be able to go under rack and loop around

Q: How waterproof is this really? Will it survive an hour long trip in the rain? I really want to avoid getting a hard top box.

fortunately i have not been caught in the heavy rain only showers so i cannot answer that but it looks like it would be ok as the zips have seals and its well made so far after a lot of ridding it has been spot on adjusted properly it realy does a good job

Very disappointed with quality and lack of response

My husband only got to use the bag twice. Both zips broke and two repair shop owners said that they couldn't replace the zip because of the way the bag was designed. Very disappointed with quality. Email sent re issue but didn't receive a reply .
